Marathon or Snickers?

Jump to newest

Not far away

I've never warmed to the name Snickers.

Yes I know I should be over it by now but it still bothers me.

What do you think?

Jif or Cif?

Opel fruits or Star burst?

Any other product name changes and what's your opinion.

I know this is a bit of a highbrow subject but I just think we need answers and hopefully we can collectively put a stop to this nonsense.

Treats didn’t become M&M’s!!

M&M’s advertised Treats to death. Just as Walkers all but killed Golden Wonder.

I saw a pack of Golden Wonder a few years ago and was amazed that they were still on life support.

You can still get golden wonder! And they still have the colours right ie green = cheese n onion, blue = salt n vinegar, not like this Walkers nonsense.

Neither.

Mars Bars with nuts in, it's just wrong. Nuts and chocolate do not go together. It’s law !

Shrinking sweets are all to do with the £1 barrier, for individual sweets to go above that it would stop them selling. If they just shrink them and keep the price the same people will still buy them, and most won't even realise the sweet has shrunk.

Everything has shrunk over the last 10 years, apart from my stomach

"Minstrels use to be called Treats"

Definitely no connection between these two, they were available alongside each other for years. And M&Ms are an entirely separate product again.

Fruit Salads taste entirely different now too - not as strong a flavour as they used to be.

"I saw a pack of Golden Wonder a few years ago and was amazed that they were still on life support."

It's the usual story of public demand/competitors killing off or subduing the superior product - Beta Max, Golden Wolden, Windows Phone; all much better than the competition but became unviable once another player took a huge lead.

I had a Windows phone. The worst mobile I've had.

Marathon

Jif

Opal Fruits (I had the advert song in my head last night, strangely enough)

Dime bar

The nerds we had as kids (pre-glass scandal) were nicer.

I understand that the manufacturer has seen sense and is going to go back to the original style.

After eight munchies. Use to be called mintola.

Granted they’re like after eight but munchie makes them sound crunchie and they’re not. False advertising I say.

Now if they had a little bit mint cracknel in the bottom we’d be talking

There were two different types of Treats, the yellow packet (peanuts) the brown packet (M&Ms)

Yeah, but as they changed it in the first place to give us less Toblerone for our money you can bet they'll be putting the price up when they put it back to how it should be

There were *three* different types actually ... There were also toffee Treets in a blue packet which were the best ones!
