One of my favourite artists is Jack Vettriano. Some of his prints portray very elegant yet classic erotic posses from the 1930/40/50 era.

Does anyone else share my appreciation of his work?

Love his work - sensual and understatedly erotic - have a book of his somewhere will have to dig it out.

I used to have the four guys on a beach pic on my wall which was the first of his that I saw and loved at a glance literally as passing a shop that had it in the window in the car.

A friend introduced me to his pics a few years ago, must admit that I love them. Some of the sensual range are very erotic. I think it’s to do with what you imagine rather than what you see. And some of the devotion range i think would be extremely good to try and recreate for a Fab pic x

I appreciate and admire anyone who is self taught but having said that, I find his work very formulaic and samey... especially the erotic stuff ..its almost like poster art .. but i do like 'Beach'

Yep, it does have that quality. That's part of what I like about it though.

He said that men are always recommending their partners as models and drag them along dressed in suspender belts.

I went to a restrospective of his with a Fab friend and we made up stories for them. We had a great time wondering if the figures had fallen out, or had just had sex, or it was the morning after, etc Leaving something to the imagination can be fun.

It’s how you learn, yes, but then one should find one’s style. Not transplant the image and pass it off as an original work when it’s beyond derivative, it’s almost a facsimile!

Got a large, framed print of "Bluebird at Bonneville", upstairs.

I know he's often panned for being 'too popular' but with any commercially successful art, people buy what they like.

There's a lot of so-called 'art', which is critically acclaimed but just looks like pretentious shit.

I wouldn't hang a Picasso on my wall.
