Partly because it was done just before his death. Makes he think he knew it was coming.... the video adds to it as well.

Somewhere In The Ether…

It didn’t make me cry but certainly moved me; Velos: In Memoriam.

Dedicated to the victims of the Manchester bombing.

Beautiful, melancholy and yet uplifting also.

I would recommend the video as well. Shows how his life is in a bit of disrepair and ruin . His wife died just after then he went right after. Broken heart. Very sad song.

Any mention of bullying makes me mad. I've never been bullied and I never would bully, but I hung around with kids who were bullied. It's something that really riles me and as I've got older I find myself reacting badly to any bullying, even workplace / 'professional' bullying.

Mine all remind me of lost loves.

Odyssey - Looking for a way out

Snow Patrol - You Could be Happy

Sade - By Your Side

Desree - Kissing You

Kate Bush - This Woman’s Work

And then there is El Condor Pasa by Simon & Garfunkel that reminds me of my favourite uncle who passed away on holiday in Spain when he was 33 (and i was 9). Simon & Garfunkel were his favourite.

I can’t listen to Bright Eyes either as the scene in thenfilm with the floating black rabbit makes me cry.

Father figure by George Michael

I spent my entire pregnancy at 18 alone.

Split up on a Saturday, found out I was pregnant on the Sunday, packed up my shit and moved 300 miles away on the Monday

I listened to ladies and gentlemen the whole pregnancy and that song killed me. Still does, we got back together, had 4 kids, 12 years together...mainly abusive and horrific. And now he doesn't see his kids and it breaks my heart to see them ask why there dad doesn't bother with them. Thankfully Dave is a fuckin saint and took on all my kids as his own and we had one more ....

Somewhere over the rainbow - Judy Garland The Wizard Of Oz.It always makes me want to cry as the film is always on over Christmas and makes me sad when I think of family and friends no longer with me.

"Doesn't quite make me cry but Johnny cash - hurt

definitely makes me a bit melancholy

Why?

Partly because it was done just before his death. Makes he think he knew it was coming.... the video adds to it as well.

Might have to go have a look...

I would recommend the video as well. Shows how his life is in a bit of disrepair and ruin . His wife died just after then he went right after. Broken heart. Very sad song.

Definitely not one for right now after the phone call I have just had "

"Father figure by George Michael

I spent my entire pregnancy at 18 alone.

Split up on a Saturday, found out I was pregnant on the Sunday, packed up my shit and moved 300 miles away on the Monday

I listened to ladies and gentlemen the whole pregnancy and that song killed me. Still does, we got back together, had 4 kids, 12 years together...mainly abusive and horrific. And now he doesn't see his kids and it breaks my heart to see them ask why there dad doesn't bother with them. Thankfully Dave is a fuckin saint and took on all my kids as his own and we had one more ....

That's a sad story but a lovely ending xx"

Randomly; ‘Don’t you worry child’ by Swedish House Mafia. It speaks to me of hope and loss and never fails.

‘Stay High’ by Tove Lo (remix) does too as it reminds me of lost love and that feeling of trying to do anything to keep your thoughts from that person.

To be honest though there are so many songs that bring memories, I’m always receiving emotional trauma at the hands of the radio

I hurt myself today

To see if I still feel

I focus on the pain

The only thing that's real

The needle tears a hole

The old familiar sting

Try to kill it all away

But I remember everything

What have I become

My sweetest friend

Everyone I know

Goes away in the end

And you could have it all

My empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns

Upon my liars chair

Full of broken thoughts

I cannot repair

Beneath the stains of time

The feelings disappear

You are someone else

I am still right here

What have I become

My sweetest friend

Everyone I know

Goes away in the end

And you could have it all

My empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

If I could start again

A million miles away

I will keep myself

I would find a way

Gets me every time.

"Into the West

Bring Him Home

Learn to be Lonely

Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again

Forever Autumn

Fantastic songs, any reasons behind them, or just generally? "

I have known loss. Other than that, as in the other thread I don't share that stuff on the internet..no offence.

Horsham

"Lone bugler playing the last post or isla St Claire singing flowers of the forest both make me swallow hard grit my teeth and wipe away a tear. Absent friends..... "

Never been in the forces, but after hearing at a funeral. It gets me everytime.

Not forgetting time to say goodbye, played it as we left a relatives funeral. There was not a dry eye in the house.

"'Nothing Compares 2 U' by Sinead Oconnor."

This. It was played at the funeral of someone I loved very much.

‘Missing’ by Everything But The Girl for the same person, which seems to be cropping up randomly on radio when shopping and floors me every time.

‘The First Time That Ever I Saw Your Face’ by Roberta Flack, good tears for the birth of my children.

Somewhere Only We Know, it’s too personal to say why.

York

Forever Autumn by Jeff Wayne and Justin Hayward from the War of the Worlds album, it's a sad song anyway but it reminds me of my dad who used to play that album to us quite often as kids, two years gone now

Transatlanticism by Deathcab for cutie, it reminds me of how utterly heartbroken I was when I broke up with the only girl I've ever truly been in love with.

Dancing on my Own - Calum Scott

I stupidly fell in love with a married man who made all the cliched promises and like the cliches side chick I believed I was different. He broke me. The lyrics break my heart all over again -

'And I'm in the corner, watching you kiss her,

I'm right over here, why can't you see me'

Californication - RHCP - played at my best friend's funeral

Bring Me to Life by Evanescence and Who Knew by Pink remind me of the time after my best friend died and I still feel the same stabbing pain when I hear them.
