Started a chat on here with a guy and got on to careers and starting families. He shocked me by saying men have longer to get theirs sorted and for women it's normally between 27-32. After 32 starting a family is through desperation?

Can't just be me that thinks this is a very old fashioned and backward thing to say

I never really wanted kids but I did say that if I did it would have been late 30s. I didn’t get married until I was 35 so he’s talking out of his arse. I didn’t want them in the end so all good.

think desperation was an inappropriate word and I think the medical profession would suggest the best time for a woman to have a child is up to age of 40 but hey women much older are having children now and I certainly don't see it as a problem.

I don't have any and still don't feel ready so I'd also think late 30s would be possibly when I do

It’s his opinion/feeling - and it’s not for anyone else to come on, start a thread about it, canvassing for agreeable comments like “sounds like a bit of a cunt”

Does it help and contribute to the forum - I don’t think so, and just highlights a distinct penchant for bashing anyone who has a different opinion . Hope everyone gets their daily fix of “oh how great I feel slating this guy, even though I don’t know who the hell he is”

I wouldn't say desperation but the scientific and statistical evidence is quite clear that getting married is best done before 30 (for both) and starting a family is best done before early 30's (for women). So overall men do have more time, on average, to sort their careers.
