osteo arthritis

so just been diagnosed with this and have to say not happy.

Waiting on the x ray results which should determine what course of action to take.

My question is does any body else suffer, and if so how do you combat it.

It's in my right hip and knee and the pain is ... well lets just say it's painful.

Any suggestions would be great thanks.

Sorry to hear you’re in pain. I’ve just commented on the swimming thread, I’ve found that’s helped mine a lot. It gets everything moving without putting pressure on the joints.

Acupuncture is great too in my opinion.

Dont really want to take pain killers all the time

heard of CBD oil, also magnetic bracelets but its all anecdotal

However open to alternative medicine and would probably not rule anything out

Iv got a touch of it in my spine,the thing is with arthritis is that it will get worse and not better,i had it in my right hip,doctor said i just wore it out with all the circuit training i was doing over the years,swimming is better for you

Probably not the same thing, but I have psoriatic arthritis, which is a pain in anywhere but the arse

It's more inflammatory than anything else, but when it kicks in, I can barely get out of ma chair. I take Colchicine to help take the swelling down, and Tramadol to help alleviate the pain.

I dont mind taking painkillers as they are the only helpful things for me

Yep looks like all the training I have done, plus heavy construction work have been instrumental in this coming on.

Gonna be a fat lazy bastard from now on

Hi

Heat definitely helps.... heat pads.. things like that...also topical creams... influence etc. Gentle massage will improve mobility and ginger or turmeric tablets can be beneficial. Take paracetamol as and when really needed...

Unfortunately it's something that comes with age....

Turmeric is good add it to whatever you can get the capsules I have this in my back knees wrists and hips and recently ankles too I used to have to take tramadil then morphine. But since using turmeric I’m taking ibuprofen and paracetamol the pains still there but do much more manageable as the inflammations less

I also have fibromyalgia and sarc aswell still don’t need the heavy painkillers as yet will find out when the winter kicks in if I’m still this happy
