I can see your point, but, I feel the emojis help put context and tone to typed words. Something that looks harsh typed can be softened by a wink , that in speech you'd know was tongue in cheek from the tone.

Iv tried to have an emoji free Friday,no emojis used by anyone for just one day as an experiment to see how the threads pan out,but alas nobody would do it
