Traveller are you? I like to see all the big sites, get a small tour or read the little information books on them while I explore but I also like to walk 10 km + around the place, down allies etc... Going nowhere just seeing everything. I went travelling with friends that just want the pics at the big sites then just lie in the sun all day or go drinking.

I just love getting lost...walking or driving without having a destination and see where it leads

I got lost in everywhere I've been, I convinced myself it's because I like an adventure but it's probably because I'm shit at navigating

I look things up before I go and print out maps. I also do Google street view on places so I know what buildings to look for. I managed to find my hotel last weekend really easily even though I'm shit at directions.

Another aimless meanderer here. When I'm somewhere exotic and foreign what I most want to do is soak up all the wonderful foreigness of it all. I may not even visit the big sights

On a trip to visit the mayan temples of Mexico I did all the main ones you were supposed to do. But my most vivid memories were of wandering off into the woods by ourselves and coming across a bunch of monkeys who looked at us with such alarm that we figured we should probably back quietly away... and of a little known temple which you couldn't reach by road but had to get there by boat. Making our way through the wild undergrowth and emerging before a vine covered ancient ruin... now that really was the Indiana Jones experience I was after

I don't like to plan or have an itinerary of where I am going or have to be at a certain time. Definitely more of a wanderer and see what I can discover on my own.

I panic if I don't know where I am or how to get home.

I'd need someone who is a confident traveller to accompany me.

East Sussex

I like beach holidays with a few days by the pool thrown in. I also like walking around New places, sitting in cafes with a coffee and watching different people go about their lives, looking at new scenery and just taking in the experience. I find that the big, well known tourist attractions are busy, expensive and commercialised with little opportunity to see them in their full glory. I'd rather watch a video of them in most cases.

Love getting on the bus in a new place and just going where it takes you. Did Malaysia to Singapore not only was it cheap but great to interact with the locals.

The last couple of times I've been abroad with ma ex, although we were based on the coast, we've hired a car and buggered off inland for a couple of days to the less touristy places.

Hefty Hideaway

I always do extensive research and I plot out a brief itinerary. Then when I arrive I usually find a nice little spot on the beach and most of my planning goes out of the window
