Paying a deposit & terms

Paid £200 deposit on a car.

The windscreen uis chipped but he said it should be fixed tomorrow and if not, he suggested me paying car off in full.

I said I'd go back to pay off when windscreen is repaired.

Got the receipt in writing but what can i do if he renages on it?

I did hpi checks and mot history on it and all good otherwise.

Apologies for asking this on here, as I've no one to ask.
