"When watching a film, I've never once sat there and thought "You know, this film would be better if he was gay" or "this film should have more white guys" Just enjoy the story that the film crew are trying to tell " I think that's fair enough. Sometimes they try and 'shoehorn' characters in to make a point and it just seems wrong.

"Deadpool is pansexual in word but not really in deed. Landing crotch first on a male adversary’s face and hollaring ‘ Teabagged’ is funny though. "

"I don't think it's either a good or bad thing. Awareness is good Understanding is good As long as it's fits the film and hasn't been a character who's been added in last minute due to people crying that their group isn't being sufficiently represented. Film etc is itself an art form. You wouldn't go steaming over to the Mona Lisa and paint a rainbow on it would ya? You stand back and admire it for what it is. Would I like to see more, of course, just the same as I would like to watch more of any film." Agreed. As long as it's important to the story then fine. If not, then why does it matter

"We should stop assuming all people/characters are straight. I never do " It makes for a more interesting reading of character interactions.

"We should stop assuming all people/characters are straight. " Who's we? The first thing I think when I meet people, or see a character in a movie, is "ooh, I wonder if they're gay"

"We should stop assuming all people/characters are straight. Who's we? The first thing I think when I meet people, or see a character in a movie, is "ooh, I wonder if they're gay" " It was preferable to saying 'you' or 'one', in this instance.
