"And another new week! I’m back onto my training plan again after a week or so off for a chest cold, week 8 of 18 now and it’s going to get tougher from here on in. It’s not helped by the fact that I cracked a rib on Friday when I went Karting ![]() Ouch! How did you manage to do that? "I’m targeting a half in autumn. Done a couple of 10Ks over summer but need to start adding more slow and long runs into my schedule. Good luck everyone for the week ahead. I’m on 2 weeks A/L so need to plan some runs whilst also having time to have fun with the kids ![]() There are two ways of looking at it, running gets in the way of life and life gets in the way of running. Don't be too hard on yourself if you don't run because you are making memories with your kids. They are only this age once. Missing a couple of long runs now won't hurt any halfs in the Autumn.

"May of nearly killed me in this heat did 7km this morning, is the a strava group. I imagine that most wouldn’t sign up to it as it will give real names and exact locations Oh I forgot about that ![]() It was discussed a couple of months ago, but dismissed for that reason. Following a plan just helps me focus and see what I've achieved so far. "Fantastic Meli! How are you finding C25K?" Thanks OP! A bit tiring to say the least. At times I can't be arsed because it's warm and it involves me moving but then I think I really should stick to it. The 20 minute run this week was tricky. I feel quite whoop and alive after for a bit and that helps me want to keep running. I've bumbled my stream of consciousness there sorry! I find it good but tiring basically.

"Well at the moment I have been running around about the 2.25km mark for 15 mins. I only started back at the gym 3 weeks ago. It is taking a bit of time to loose timber and get fit. On Thursday I reduced pace a little (down 1km an hour) but pushed it out to 18 mins. I am hoping within next 2 weeks to hit 2.5km for 15 mins which is on 5km in 30 mins pace. Then I will do that for a couple of weeks before moving up to 18 mins " Well done Mike! Remember that pace isn't everything, a 20 minute 5k is just as far as a 40 minute 5k.
