I remember about ten years ago a family of redheads died because their house was set on fire by people bullying them. They were bullied because they had red hair. Why? Just why? Why did sometime deserve that for having features that they cannot change? That has disturbed me then, and it disturbs me now. I have taken the piss out of her for a multitude of things over the duration of our 30+ year friendship and her with me. I’m fat, she’s ginger. She’s a terrible cook, I’m awful at timekeeping. She’s forgetful, I’m a geek. I can guarantee you, if you felt the need to slap me down in front of her for taking the piss out of her, she’d slap you down for interfering in our long established banter. Yes, bullying is awful. People should never be attacked for their appearance / religion / sexual preference. The kind of people who perpetuate this are a waste of oxygen. If you have a banter with a good mate and all parties are aware and have found the bantering agreeable, then good for you. Both sides knows the boundaries which should not be crossed.
