Most own brand products are identical to the big brands, are made in the same factory on the same production line but just have a different label stuck on at the end. I don’t see the point in wasting the extra pennies on the brands.

Baked beans I no longer buy anyway, far too much sugar in them! I buy cans on haricot beans and make my own instead and we prefer them.

It's not a snobby thing ~ But I always buy "fairy liquid"~ It's just better by far!!

Kellogg's are way nicer as well!!

Not bothered about Heinz Beans~ Aldi Beanz are lovely.

I've always bought quality hair and skin care products !!~and have certainly

HP beans, Daddies brown sauce, Heinz piccalilli and Bisto Best gravy are about the only things I won't deviate from. Some non brand stuff is better than others, but it's pretty much trial and error really

I buy brands I buy unbranded. Whatever tastes nice. I find Lidl do some great food but lack in certain areas so I go to Waitrose.

My clothes are the same. I sometimes go big and I sometimes go low I feel very happy when I buy a great T Shirt for under a tenner.

The only thing I can think of that I have to buy the name brand is Hellmans mayo purely because I haven't found another which I like better.

Every thing else is own brand or what's on offer. I never buy the value range of anything because the quality is poor. I'm thinking loo rolls here, never making that mistake again

Only buy branded loo roll. Everything else, I'll buy own brand of value brand. I can make cheap ingredients into tasty meals with some kitchen wizardry.

The toilet roll thing though reminds me of that classic Peter Kay story 'me biscuits fallen in me brew'.

Except the story goes slightly differently 'eurggghhhh....me fingers slipped into me poo'

Depends what the product is. Clothes wise I have a very varied yet specific taste to which many named brands do not cater for, equally there are food stuffs in which I have to have the proper brand of. But not always. I currently prefer rola cola to the proper stuff

I used to work at Hazelwoods when it had a factory in Derby. Yeah, they do just change the label for supermarket's own brands, but all Heinz stuff had their own lines

I mix it up, I have a thing for Mulberry handbags but I’m also ok with something from Primark. I can happily pay £200 for some shoes but also £10 if I like them. Food wise, I shop mainly in Aldi or Lidl and occasionally in M&S. I like what I like when I see it.

I’m not a snob for me, although I have a thing for Coach, and Mulberry handbags. And I like M&S food. Weekly shop is delivered from Sainsburys cos I’m a lazy cow and is topped up from Lidl and Aldi. If either of them delivered I’d get it all from there.

My daughter is always dressed in decent clothes though. 70% of her wardrobe is Boden, and the rest is pretty much Frugi, Joules, Hatley, Cath Kidston and John Lewis.

I mooch about in Sainsbury’s and George!

I'm not a brand snob and will happily try almost any supermarket own brand product, if I don't like it i don't buy it again. The only products I won't substitute are HP sauce and branston pickle.

I shop around at all of my local supermarkets but never make a special trip to them, always when I'm passing. We get a weekly online delivery from Tesco. I work at Sainsbury's so will pick bits up after work from there. I often pop into aldi or lidl on my way home from work as I have to pass them. I go to asda every Friday as I pop into town to do my mum's banking and it's across the road.

Shopping around means I get the best of the bargains from everywhere. I'm pretty lucky to have so much choice close to home, all within about a mile (except Tesco)

I'm not as bothered with food generally (aside from Heinz beans and sauce) but definitely with clothes and shoes, it's a throwback to my experiences as a teenager who's parents couldn't afford to spend money on all the fashionable brands for us, so I would be mercilessly bullied for having cheaper trainers and very few branded clothes. Looking back I can understand why my parents couldn't afford it, but as a teenager getting picked on it was a nightmare. I have much more disposable income than they had and I'm not raising three kids so I do tend to spend a fair bit on clothes.

This for me too.

I don't really care about clothing / designer brands - I really feel that that sort of thing is buying into giving a fuck what other people think - rather than whether you like it or not!

Buying a dress for £3000 is a mugs game in my opinion!

I try and buy as much natural food as possible rather than brands - but am suckered into eating Five Guys burgers or if I'm feeling filthy a KFC

I don't drive a car I have a middle of the road bicycle and I'm not bothered about gadgets either.

Brands are when you are dazzled by the advertising or following the sheeple!

I know what you mean. If I like something then I will get it regardless of whether it’s £20 or very expensive. I don’t buy for the sake of brands except my mulberry bags and an expensive watch. However, I wear my retro Casio watch mainly that cost me $20 and I love charity/vintage shop finds.

The original ones are house slippers. The ugg Australia brand was invented for surfers to wear. They keep your feet cool or warm. Celebrities just made it a trend. I used to be a lifeguard and my colleague was wearing then early 90s, way before the trend.

I had a pair but before the trend. I stopped wearing them when everyone wore them. I do follow fashion sometimes but I tweak it to suit me. I like a quirky style.

I am a bit of a brand preferer. I've tried cheaper versions of beans, butter, soup, mayo etc. but they don't cut it for me.

Cheap porridge is all dust and cheap bran flakes taste like cardboard.

I always buy the cheap version to see if I like it. I've stuck with most things as they are just as good or I prefer them. Not washing up liquid tho or lidl Alpen...that was rank

As for clothes I shop from Coast and Primark and just buy what I like. When I was younger it had to be Versace and brand but not any more x

Food - we shop at Aldi, no issues with quality at all, some stuff is in fact better.

Clothes - not too fussed most high street stuff or even supermarket tshirts. Although mrs has a few Louis Vuitton handbags.

I am absolutely 100% a watch snob though, I won’t entertain watch brands such as Micheal kors or Armani. I’d rather not wear one.

Just a tiny difference, I was in a factory on a production line visiting as part of my job recently and was told that the recipes are ever so slightly different ie maybe a thicker sauce but essentially you are spot on

An 80's child and those labels and the importance of dressing well has stuck with me.

Any woman who doesn't appreciate style would be overlooked.

Stan smith trainers (Adidas) are stylish. I wear them out with a nice vintage tea dress. You will see then on many fashion mags or bloggers. It just depends how something is worn. "

I love my Stan Smiths, my mulberry, Chloe and Prada handbags but buy my beans from Tesco.

Ha ha, lots of yummy mummy Birkenstock wearers and becoming more hipster. I love east London like Hackney, that’s where the understated stylish people are. They can throw together vintage and charity finds so effortlessly. I’m from Plynouth originally and that’s so behind it’s like going back in time.

Not always,I used to weave Burberry Kashmir scarves. Lovely quality but so we're the other Kashmir scarves we made. We could buy the other scarves for £2.50,all made the same way and using the same yarns to make them. Bet you can't buy a new Burberry scarves for that price...they'd rather burn them than sell them cheap.
