"I love the feel and smell of proper book. Oh so do I Hatter. Especially the ones from a second hand or charity shop." Absolutely. They have their own story. I once swapped a book at a villa I was staying in and someone had left a note inside. Only a brief note about what they thought of the book (and their holiday) I loved that and stole that idea.

"A proper book.... I like to turn the corners down and even scribble in the margin. " Some would say that is book sacrilege... I can't bring myself to do that in my own books, on the other hand I've found such marginalia in second-hand books (and library books) can offer interesting insights, is often an eye opener, and on occasion very funny!...

"Real books are way more pleasurable, but I like ebooks for convenience and portability. I love audiobooks too, great for "reading" whilst doing other stuff." I agree about audio books. They make ironing bearable.
