Disappearing messages

I know this has been asked before and I've read several related threads and looked at the FAQ section but it mostly concerns old or dormant messages.

Today I sent a message to a local member and it went unread for an hour or two afterwards but just checked in and there is no evidence I ever sent it. It's not been read and deleted? Its just not there?

As I say I've read a few threads and not got any answers??

This happened a few weeks ago too and thought maybe I hadn't actually sent it but I knew I had.

Any ideas??

"Have they left the site? Blocked you?"

Blocking wouldn’t remove the message. But leaving site would, with the new changes to site.

New rules regarding mail if they get suspended blocked or leave etc any mail sent gets automatically removed from mail box to stop old messages cluttering up

Arius, that sounds plausible, I don't remember the exact spelling of their user name so can't check if they blocked me but their original post is missing from my news feed so maybe they left but previously the message still shows in sent box but with the notation "user has left the site"

Maybe things have changed??

Which is exactly what I posted before him. The new rule is in your updates feed.

They changed recently to stop people joining, sending shitty messages then leaving.

One of my messages disappeared the other day to, not long after I'd met him for a social. Think it was something I said

Theres gremlins in the system somewhere. I have a couple of messages I have not yet read for a few weeks, and occasionally they 'disappear' then come back a couple of days later. And no, the senders haven't left the site.

There and to the left a bit

Is that because they've been pushed off the page by subsequent messages received that you've then deleted, causing the other messages to come back up the list?

I do know that if sent messages go unread for a period of time (3 weeks I think) they then auto-delete but not sure if that applies to received messages too.
