I'm listening to MTV unplugged... and it's a band from my yooof..

Is it nostalgia that makes you think the music was better back then (my parents thought it was noise not music) I listen to today's music and I often think .. where's radio 2 (other radio stations are available) this is crap yet my kids like it..

Can someone explain ?

There’s great music still out there but it often requires a search (outside of the charts).

Mind you and having said that, there’s some amazingly talented, popular artists around such as Drake who regularly tops the charts.

I found that most of the music I absolutely adored and became obsessed with was music from my late teens/early twenties. I don’t think music was particularly better then I just think that that age is when you’re probably more susceptible to it.

Back then I was buying one or two albums a week, now I’m lucky to buy two a year.

Interestingly or not, my brother recently reccomended that I listened to "Absolute 90s" on the radio.

All it did was help me to remember how many songs I didn't like in the 90s...

6 music is pretty good and has new stuff on it.

The music I listened to in my youth was rarely played on the radio. And there is plenty of new music that I love. No idea what mainstream radio plays though, nearest I get to that is radio 6
