Happy Endings in Movies

If there is one thing I like about happy endings in movies is how they always make me feel good inside and bring a smile to my face. Which one of your favourite movies does that for you at the end?

For me, my favourite has to be the ending of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory when Charlie, Grandpa Joe and Wonka are in the Wonkavator flying above the town and Wonka says to Charlie "Don't forget what happened to man who got everything he always wanted" and Charlie says "What happened?" and Wonka replies "He lived happily ever".

That always brings a happy smile to my face and I'm even smiling right now just thinking about it

Just to be awkward I’ll say I love the ending in Pretty Woman but not right up to the very very end. It’s great he goes back for her but when she says “and she rescues him right back” or whatever it makes me cringe

I also like the ending of the animated 1989 movie The BFG.

The ending does make me feel happy for BFG and Sophie as they go back to Giant Country as a family which is very touching

I love the ending of Wall-e as not only do the humans get back to Earth, but Wall-e and Eve get to share a future together which is very sweet

Shawshank redemption has always been my favourite. It’s all about hope and the fact that it took him so long to achieve. It’s a very positive message.

Also if anyone enjoys the whole sub/dom relationship, Secretary is an amazing film with a great ending

I could probably list a lot of films here but for some reason The Railway Children has just popped into my head. That scene at the end when their father returns. Not only is it a happy ending, it's bloody emotional as well.

I must admit that I absolutely loved the ending of The Last Jedi.

.....The end credits I mean; Christ on a pogo-stick - they couldn’t come soon enough and it served as a final, merciful end to the three hours of interminable suffering I experienced sitting through that film

I will have to agree. As much as this movie has one or two good moments, the director really fucked it up with this one.
