Newcastle and Gateshead

had this conversation about sporting summers... and everyone being chuffed for two weeks with the "its coming home" stuff...

I was argueing that the the two weeks when we had when the olympics was on in london gave us a better feeling... but it was close....

so has there been an event thats brought us all together........

Leicester winning the Premier league perhaps. Everyone wanting to see the little guy do something special.

England Rugby Union side winning the 2003 World Cup.

The 2005 Ashes series.

I think they all brought people together who wouldn't normally have done.
