Build a bear chaos

Hands up how many people were surprised with the chaos at the Build a Bear outlets yesterday?

Was it chaos or human nature?

The price of one of their bears is apparently £50, yesterday you could get one for the price of the age of a child.

Now I've walked past their outlets many times & seen more staff than customers inside

If people wanted a bear that badly why not pay the full price?

Human nature, greed - you tell me

Hillside desolate

Or people who don't have a lot of money and saw it as an opportunity to get something really nice for their kid?

near a big hill in s/ shropshire NOT in

I got kicked out of there once as I built a bear in high leather boots , kinky tight black pants and a pointed bra and asked if they did chains and whips

I find it baffling that people would queue up with kids that young to save a few quid on a teddy bear.

Queuing with a child under 5 for any decent length of time surely isn’t worth it. Can’t be a good experience for the kid.

Certainly wouldn’t do it with ours

I totally understand that point of view, but I think that would totally be offset by the drama the whole event caused.

Reminds me of the drama Black Friday brings

There are plenty of shops which sell bears for a fraction of the price

That shop is ridiculously over priced. Then more so with the added accessories they talk you into buying.

If you're on a low income or have more then one kid who's always wanted a build a bear, then yesterday prices was a god send to most families.

Northampton Somewhere

I didn't know about that but if I'd of been in mk (nearest one) and seen that was going on of course I would of got one so long as the queue wasn't hours long. £50 on a teddy bear....fuck that!

This does bring in the debate - do I need it or do I want it because it's cheap?

I never buy into sales, Black Friday, etc. When I need, say a TV I just buy one because lets face it, there are no real sales. Just shops selling off old stock!

Well in my case my daughter theoretically would love a build a bear so yes it's a want, one I would be happy to indulge her in to...if she was 5!!

Get one of the unicorns. Get it stuffed then get straight out. Unicorns dont need to wear all the extra outfits and gubbins then its nowhere near £50.
