I'm all for lawful protest, but this balloon was just puerile. Also, aren't we all desperately trying to rid ourselves of the need for using plastic? These protesters seem similar to those who bully small businesses into not using plastic straws, but have no problem flying a huge "fuck you" to everyone trying to do their bit for the environment. Not funny. Not clever. There are better ways.

I think the difference between the two groups is that one spreads hate and intolerance when it demonstrates whereas the the other group demonstrates against hate and intolerance.

For anyone that would suggest that the baby blimp of Trump is disgusting and the equivalent to hate crime... you aren't serious are you? It's no different to any of the cartoon character puppets that Spitting image used to give us, it's just political satire! Trump has broad shoulders, he knows it comes with the territory. If he doesn't give a fuck about some of the things he's said and done, he's not going to give a fuck about the balloon! Why does anyone feel the need to be offended on his behalf?

I think any balloon made by the EDL, whatever the subject matter would probably be far more offensive.

As far as I'm aware, the EDL do get to demonstrate and exercise their right to freedom of speech, they just have to adhere to the same laws as everyone else with regards to hate speech and crime which, they obviously find more difficult to do because of their message and agenda. Maybe they should try a more satirical method of getting their hate (sorry, I mean opinion) across!

To be honest, I don't think Donald Trump give a shit about the protest in London, it wont change anything, just waste an effort and Khan should resign as the Mayor of London, since he took office, crime levels have rocketed up and London is more violent place than New York, it would be good to have a baby Khan balloon to fly over London in August.

I find it much more interesting how the far left only agree with freedom of speech when whoever is speaking agrees with their views. If they dont they are the quickest to try and shout them down and stop them from speaking.
