Wedding dresses...

I've been watching wedding programmes recently (like four weddings, etc) and was just curious to see what people think is an average price for a wedding dress and what constitutes an expensive wedding dress.

I think a cheap dress is under £1000, mid price would be up to £3000 and an expensive one would be £8000 upwards.

what do you think?

my 1st was £700 with the extras too and my 2nd was £550 with the extras and i think both were gorgeous... i would never have paid more than £1000 whats the point, they only get thrown in a cupboard along with the ex hubbys lol

Weekend break . . . . my whole wedding cost less than 8 grand including the honeymoon

Ok what I brought back is still costing me cos she is nearly 7 years old

When we got married we decided we just wanted a quiet family only day and cos he had decided to join up we didnt have loads of time to get it sorted out . . . kind of just phoned up the registrar (? spelling is pants I know) and did it.

No fancy dress, cars, reception or flowers just him and I telling everyone we love each other.

your wedding sounds like it was lovely and

Four weddings has really opened my eyes to weddings on a budget of any sort. the weddings i have been to had no budget and im sure cost over £250,000 but i'm starting to realise that you dont need a lot of money to have a lovely wedding or wedding gown.

£250,000? That could have been a new car or the deposit on a house.

Having paid for two of the damn things in my life, what I would like to know is where is the recycled wedding dress shop cos I never saw either wedding dress ever again! Were they turned into tablecloths? Have I been eating my dinner of them? Are they lining the baby's crib?

WHERE ARE THEY??????

People don't actually buy second hand wedding dresses, do they? Isn't it supposed to be the most important day of a woman's life?

Losing ya virginity is an important day in one's life. Buying a ridiculously expensive dress you only wear once doesn't really qualify does it!

Given the number of marriages which fail wouldnt it be an idea to spend a bit of money on a dress you really like, and then keep it for the next one...?!

my wedding dress was £1298 which i thought was expensive and after it was all ordered we seen it in another smaller family run shop for £300,exactly the same dress so it pays to shop around all the smaller shops and not 2 stick to the big well known ones

Only if you want to, but it can make you look more dressed up (if you want to that is!)

Big C charity shop in Norwich has a huge wedding dress department - couldn't persuade our daughter to get one from there though
