"I think there are a lot of non celebrity dad's that get away with the same things without vilification. The fact that they are celebrities or well known people in the media doesn't stop people being bad parents. Probably doesn't answer your question, sorry " But I specifically picked these ones because they all have a fairly positive public image which I don't understand. I left off the likes of Charlie Sheen because everyone knows he's a cock.

"Maybe it's the fact that you are getting irate over celebrities. The media always reports what they want to report about these people. At the end of the day, nobody knows what happens between the mother and father behind closed doors. You're grouping all these people together based on limited knowledge, which is a dangerous game to play. " Not really. Take Diego Maradona for example, he refused to acknowledge his son until his son was in his twenties and barged onto a golf course to confront him. There's nothing you can blame the mother for in that. He knew the child was his and he didn't want to take responsibility for his actions.

Maybe people do prefer a "troubled genius" than a proper role model. I'm stumped by that actually.

I mean it’s hardly a proud moment when you introduce your father who is a short ass , cheating , drug taking , fat fuck is it ? So he did his son a favor by not have no anything to do with him , which is probably the only decent thing he’s ever done in his sorry life .

I think children want to know who their biological parents are, even if those parents are cunts. Maradona didn't want to admit he had cheated on his wife so he denied his paternity and refused a DNA test. His son actually played a game for Italy under 17s despite having no coaching help from the 1986 golden ball winner.

It's a dick move but not quite as bad as dodging child support payments when you live in a mansion worth millions.

Has had nothing to do with him since. He's off living a great life with his fiancé, his friends think he's a great guy. Are celebrities to be beacons on virtue with 2.4 kids and the perfect marriage?

We're never allowed to forget Mike Tyson's conviction but how many people know that Evander Holyfield has 11 children with 6 different woman and missed child support payments whilst he lived in a $10m mansion?

" He paid private school fees and pretty much everything. I'm not saying that's good enough since you don't buy your way to being a good dad. But he didn't entirely dodge his responsibilities like the 5 on the list.

" Ah I see. However Mike tyson isn't doing too bad in the media despite his conviction. He's been in films, I think he had or was in a musical (certainly had a cameo in Neil Patrick Harrison's epic Tony award opening ceremony), he's always popping up. Perhaps the difference in these 2 examples is that one was a felony offence and one isn't. One is a very public act of being arrested where the other is a private matter between sperm provider and child (didn't want to call him a dad/father).

"Rightly or wrongly, Hollywood and the rest of America have mostly accepted that the 1992 conviction of Mike Tyson is unsafe to say the least. The trial is now a case study of how a judge can lead a jury to a particular verdict. If you look at the details of the trial, it's hard not to agree. However, as I said, rightly or wrongly." When the Chef Evans case happened, there were people on here who refused to refer to him as anything other than a convicted grapist. Then when his conviction was overturned, they refused to acknowledge his innocence. You can see their behaviour using the forum search. I don't see why Mike Tyson is tarnished but Evander Holyfield isn't.
