NHS celebrates its 70th today,

I would like to say a thank you to the nurses/doctors who looked after me when I had a serious accident and spent a week in hospital, I wouldn't be here without you.

110% agree with you both. Only really had experience with maternity unit myself so far. But they were amazing looking after our heavily premature baby and myself for some time.

Happy birthday NHS

Brighton - even Hove!

Same here - I was in a car crash last year and the NHS sorted me out. The food was disgusting though.

A big thank you to my colleagues up and down the country. If you have NHS on your work ID, then we are colleagues.

The pay isn't great.

Conditions aren't great.

There is an insane amount of work.

We often start early, and stay late.

Stores and equipment are in short supply.

Some patients and visitors are rude and abusive.

BUT...

We do it for the patients.

We do it for our colleagues.

We do it for love of the job.

We do it because we care.

This I've worked as a locum in various NHS trusts in Scotland, England and Wales, and what has repeatedly impressed me is the dedication and professionalism if its people across the board
