I’m still dubious about if that’s actually what it does; the addiction is still there, the habit is ongoing. To my mind it’s a little like ‘curing’ opium addiction with heroin

Not quite - opium and heroine can both be harmful, as can smoking - there is no evidence to suggest vaping is, in fact my Doctor when I told him I'd switched from cigarettes to vaping and hadn't smoked for almost two years as a result (and THERE is the point for may people OP) told me he'd recently read a report saying there are no harmful effects (yet) identified as a result of vaping, so to carry on if it kept me off the fags (and I put yet in there as it's still relatively early days, not because I suspect there will be any found).

He also mentioned that studies are underway with a view to adding vaping to the list of quit smoking techniques used by stop smoking clinics.

That all said there is still the habit side to it - not sure I'd call it an addiction, but if it's a habit that can do you no harm then is there anything wrong with that, particularly if it helps keep you off another habit that can potentially kill you?

Is there any point in your existance? What do you give to society that is so priceless? Have you procreated? Are you currently raising young? Because ultimately from a biological point of view that is your sole purpose. I quit smoking cigarettes, by Vaping, iv now quit vaping. So in my opinion they are a good thing, however I agree that it's daft if you've never smoked and just start vaping.

Again though "Each to their own" is my moto

I was stopped at lights. A chap was vaping in his car in front of me. He then must have exhaled because the front of his car filled with vape. It was so thick it looked like fog

he obviously couldn’t see feck all as he had to open his window to let some out before he pulled off.

That’s my only issue with it.

When vaping came about people jumped on it cos it was new it promised smokers a way to stop while replacing to motion or smoking and inhaling something.....

Problem was it was an untested drug when went for sale and it was a year are on market that the test results were released showing to damage that vamping does to the lung ( bringing back an old condition not seen since coal mining days)

Vaping has become a cool item with smokers an even non smokers doing it cos flavoured tastes

I’m not against it but find people I know who do it use it more than when smoked cigarettes, and hate when out for meal and ppl start vaping cos smell and smoke.

People can do what like but it all silly yes an ex smoker of 50 days which did cold turkey for an operation...

It really is a waste of money & it’s a massive addiction. Vaping I don’t understand at all, and literally everywhere I go there’s a vape shop near!

Don't serve tomato soup to them! Tomatoes contain nicotine - one sniff of the steam coming from the soup makes you a smoker, according to some anti-smokers/vapers

As I said in an earlier post - my Doctor recently told me there has yet to be any evidence that vaping is harmful in any way and in fact encouraged me to keep doing it if it keeps me off the fags.

That's not to say that evidence may come to light in future but until it does and as long as I need that "crutch" I'll stick with it.

P.S. Why does my auto-carrot keep changing "vaping" to "gaping"? Which would be a different topic entirely!!

The safe ‘pg’ and ‘vg’ Ingredients that is inhaled is not necessarily safe when heated and inhaled. It’s still unknown territory. New reports are coming out all the time. I’m not disputing vaping, it’s their body, their consequences but it’s silly to say it’s completely risk free.

I don't vape but i sometimes smoke so have considered a vape for when i fancy it.

We both have made the change from smoking to vaping. Have both noticed a great improvement in health, smell and taste.

It’s a lot cheaper than smoking, it’s also more effective than some other cestation aids plus cheaper than patches etc.

Tried champix which just made me want to jump off a cliff to follow some colourful weird flying elephant.

For us it’s certainly not a pointless waste of money. And we will continue to vape for as long as needed.

One day we will be off them but for now they are staying.
