Me watching the tennis;

15-0. What already ?!

40-30. Not 45-30 then?!

Deuce. CALLING ALL UNITS!

So at Wimbledon, the women get paid the same as the men, but play less sets, so effectively they are on time and a half. Is this fair on the men, is this the equality that the feminists speak of, or is this hypocrisy in action ?!

But where do you draw the line, should Man Cities ladies team be paid the same as the men's?

Advertising, popularity and viewing figure revenues are obvious factors in the salary structure.

As I said, tricky and where do you draw the line?

Sports is obviously very different to other work sectors.

You’ve made some good and valid points. John McEnroe said if Serena Williams was playing against the men she would be seeded about 700, so financially she’s doing pretty good. I’d guess the men ranked down that far are still stacking selves in between playing tennis.

I'm in the camp that says if they want equal prize money, play the same as the guys. Best of 5 set matches for both.

This is down to the organisers, not the female tennis players, and it’s been happening with grand slam tournaments for a long time. Therefore, yes, of course they should be paid the same, but the rules need to change.

Agreed, can't blame the ladies.

How do they achieve parity now?

Raise the women's earnings and make them play more sets or reduce the men's earning's and reduce the sets they play?

Either way one of the genders isn't going to be happy.

Yes.

They do the same with the balls too and you can adopt one.

The LTA will send you a certificate and then regular updates and photos.
