I don't usually do socials, but if someone asks for a social I don't assume it will progress to sex, so I don't prepare.

If they say shall we have a drink before we fuck, then I will.

I had a social once that unexpectedly ended in sex and I showered and shaved when I got to his, while he got the ropes ready.

If it were just a social and that had been implicit up front through swapping messages beforehand then I'd go looking and feeling my best but nothing more - if it had been mentioned in messages beforehand that there was a possibility it could go to more then I might go a little more prepared but to be honest most of the things you mention can be easily bought should the eventuality arise.

Am also curious why the "money for a hotel room" thing was aimed at men only - any meet I have costs are split evenly

I’ve yet to have any form of meet, social or otherwise however discussions are mounting such that one may soon be on the cards, so I was wondering......

As for comments relating to “paying for the hotel” I suppose it’s an old fashioned view but I’d go with the flow if sharing was offered.
