I am not a smoker, but have no issue with meeting smokers.

Last week, I had a meet with 2 smokers (one of which I provided transport for)and when we arrived, we were shown straight to the bedroom where the 1st thing they both did was have a cigarette whilst gettin undressed !

I just thought that was a bit odd and tbh a little offputting as I was likely to be snogging them both in the following few minutes.

Accepting I was on someone elses turf and in the minority smoking wise, I never said owt and just got on with it.

Does anyone else think it was a bit of a strange way to start a meet or am I just being oversensitive ?

Btw - am not knocking either party as the meet was great overall and a good time was had by all, I've just never experienced that before in any meet I've had !

we both smoke. but are always considerate, we dont smoke when non smokers are in the house, and always brush our teeth and use mouthwash before a meet arrives. the bedroom is a no smoke zone as well..

and i always have the windows open and give the house a blast of fresh air lol ,

Maybe it's a ritual some people do have odd things they do everytime

It may have also been due to nerves

I'm a non smoker and meet regularly with a guy who does smoke. Funnily enough I cannot smell tobaco on him even if he has just put a ciggy out.

But saying that he never smokes when we together.

But if I ever did meet someone who had that odour I think I would have to either offer him a mint or ask him to brush his teeth.

And if I reeked of Garlic and someone asked me the same I would not take offence

I don't find the smell of smoke as offputting as the smell of someone who owns a deep fat fryer and obviously hangs their coat in the kitchen !

Oh I did say I was sorry

It wasn't so much, the smell of the oil as such, it was more the half eaten chip that was stuck to the front of your blouse

I do not have issues meeting smokers, however, I do not expect them to smoke in my house without asking.

I would prefer they only smoke in the kitchen with the back door opened, and definitely not in the bedroom.

Good job I no longer invite peeps home!

right first thing that i spot in your post is in your first line you say you have no problem meeting smokers then go onto say you find it a bit odd they had a fag then went onto comment about having to give them a kiss, so to me you do have a problem with smokers or you wouldnt make such comments

or do you mean you dont mind meeting them so long as they dont have a fag round you?

i smoke, i always tell people i smoke, i wouldnt have a fag in someone elses house or car if they didnt smoke but other wise i will, if they dont like the fact i smoke they shoudlnt meet me

i see nothing odd about a smokers having a fag, i do find none smokers meeting smokers then posting such threads odd tho

It was probably down to nerves and I wouldn't really have had a great issue with it if I had agreed to meet smokers.

I don't smoke and I don't like the taste of smoke, I don't go in for long snogging sessions with my meets, so it wouldn't put me off essentially.

I would expect them not to light up whilst going down on me though

tbh i never check or notice if someone is a smoker or not, unless it is explicitly written within their profile blurb (cos that bit i do read)

the bit i thought was odd was to turn up, be directed to the bedroom and then them both light cigarettes at the same time as getting undressed

had we say been shown to the living room and got acquainted rather than straight down to it, i wouldn't have batted an eyelid at either of them smoking

so it was more the timing / situation that surprised me as i've never experienced anything like that before.

I regually meet someone who smokes, hes not a major smoker but i never smell it or taste it

I havent met anyone who wanted to smoke in my bedroom, i wouldnt mind to much, they could use air lite breath spray, thats what i use, i dont smoke myself though.

If people are invited to our home, we will smoke if we want one. If they are non smokers we tend to go into the kitchen to have a cigarette.

If we are in a non smokers home then we either refrain or would go outside if we really needed one.

I smoke roll ups so I always ask before i roll up. I carry a wash kit with me and usualy ask if I can take a quick shower to get the smell off n brush my teeth (when meeting non smokers). People who come to my place must expect me to smoke and so I wont ask permision to smoke in my own place, but then, I smoke on my balcony anyway......

Re OP they may have been nervous, but I read it that you were just as suprised that you eere shown 'straight up' as it were?

It was more the timing of the smoking rather than the smoking itself that confuddled me.

That's all I was saying, so please don't take my comments out of context folks.

If I was a smoker, I wouldn't light up immediately before I was about to get intimate with someone, but I guess that's a non-smokers mentality speaking and a smoker may see things differently.

I find it very disrespectful... and I dont think you should ever light up in someone elses home without asking..

If I meet smokers they have to go outside if they wish to smoke.

Oh no, am never surprised to be shown straight up.

Most of the meets I have are oral bi meets with other guys, so there tends to be few introductions beforehand and I am rarely expected to make conversation beforehand (or afterwards for that matter).

praps poorly put, i usualy have to travel to get to meets, if people are non smokers id offer to shower.... id definately ask if i could smoke, even if with smokers...... only considerate....

I play regularly with someone that does not smoke, when I am at his house, I go outside, when we are at mine, I smoke downstairs but not upstairs. When we go to parties, I do not smoke in his car even if the journey is several hours, I would consider it disrespectful if I did smoke, if I was allowed to smoke in his car, which I am not. I much prefer to be respectful to those who do not smoke and I respect their wishes not mine. However its everyone's choice on what they want to do in their own home. I just prefer to be more respectful to those who do not smoke, I want to meet them again, not have them put off by my behaviour
