I've did mine years ago and take annual refresh courses. I've also done the Catastrophic Bleeding Course and the Gas and Air courses.

At the end of it you'll most likely find yourself buying first aid kits for your home and car

Done lots of various courses through work, it’s a good life skill to have. And when the time comes to use it you’ll find the training just kicks in. Good luck OP

Essex.

I use to be FaaW until work decided we didn't need as many people trained up.

No most of us are waiting for new courses as they have now decided that they haven't got enough...

If you ever get a chance to do 1st aid or FaaW, take it for friends, family and colleagues...

Haha! That’s what I did! A mega house one, a trauma car one and a mini plasters one.

My Own Little World

Several. You have to take them every 3 years.

I was surprised that so much changed during the 3 yrs, I did 3 courses over 6 yrs and how we were taught to do CPR changed every time.

I do them every year. I think it’s a chore but when doing it I realise how much I forget so it’s very useful. Plus new techniques come out all the time.

Enjoy and good luck mate.

Near Kettering

Passed my original course over 12 years ago and been having refreshes every 3 years.

It changes all the time as I remember being taught to use a tourniquet and then being told they were non longer allowed and now they are back again lol.

Also think its good that you have to be AED trained now with so many units being made available by the Co op ect you never know when that skill will and come in handy and help to save a life.

Do you remember your "FISH SHAPED" yet lol.

Ours runs under the "we don't care how much this money saving idea costs, it will work" school of management...

Hull

I did my last one over 3 years ago.

Within a week, I with 3 other colleagues who had sat the same course had to deal with 4 people who, under influence of drink had scaled an 8 ft high wall and fell over the other side to a concrete patio 25 feet the other side!

Ambulance Service was stretched that night & took over an hour ecen for first responders to get to us; Police took only 20 minutes but had to fight off intoxicated friends of the injured!

Paramedics and Doctors who finally got to us said best First Aid they'd seen in years.

I've had to use those skills several times! Great skills to know too!
