You're only 39 and a good looking woman. In 16 or 17 years yes start to worry.

There are lots of posts about finding that special someone on here recently.

My thinking is that if you don't find what you're looking for in the places youve looked Then maybe you're looking in the wrong places?

Always, I get told I'm a good looking lad with a cracking personality but this is always from my mates other halfs.

I've focussed on my career perhaps too much over the past few years and I've set myself the target to really put myself out there and find someone now.

Fingers crossed

3yrs of being single and getting fed up with it. All the usual dating sites are a waste of time and pretty much given up trying for meets on here. Mainly come on just for a mooch and browse the forums. Feels a lot harder to meet people these days.

Yes. All the time. I've been single for almost 10 years now.

This time next month I'll be closer to 50 than I am to 20. I'm pretty sure my space on the shelf is now for life.

I was single for 13 years after I divorce my ex. Just didn't want anyone in my kids lives. I had loads of fun swinging though, lots of FWBs and FBs.

Stop looking for the one and enjoy yourself.

At age nearly 52,living in a small town and, quite frankly, being a bit of a niche taste,I pretty much feel that my chances of finding long term love are quite slim,,,,,,,,but,I have to say,I love the view from up here on the shelf, there's a lot of fun to be had without having to drag a partner around with me all the time.

I don't look on togetherness as being the key to happiness. The thing I value above all else in my life is my freedom.

Just giving my point of view, maybe an alternative way to look at the issue. It works for me,it could work for you,OP. XX

It’s hard sometimes, but I think of it this way. There’s every chance, at some point, that I’ll have children and will be struggling to even have a wee in peace. So, I’m going to live every second that I’m single so I don’t regret wasting it when I’m probably not.

No. If i meet someone who wants a relationship with me and i want a relationship with him then great, if i don’t meet someone then that’s ok.

Life is too short to hang around waiting for “the one”.

And i think we over romanticise relationships. Yes they can be awesome, but they can be hard work too at times.

I would love to be in a loving relationship again, and i’m lucky in that i have had that in the past, so unless a man truly adores me i won’t settle, especially not for the sake of not being single.

I just climbed back on the shelf after far too long with a chap who wasn’t the one. I’m in no hurry to leave my spot. I’m a great believer in carrying on with life. I never thought I’d be single and happy in my mid 30s but damn am I enjoying it!

Have my very own shelf. Been single for longer than I care to admit. Get told all the time I'm a lovely woman and a keeper yet no one wants to keep me. Have come to the conclusion that it's me whos scared to take the plunge or then again maybe I haven't met the right man. Still happy to keep looking and having fun doing it .

Just recently been thinking this having been single for 12 years now. I know I'm over thinking things and almost looking for reasons for not getting into a relationship, although I do miss being in one.

I think I might be by my own admission. Been single for 6 months after a 17 year relationship. Been asked out quite a few times but the thought of being with someone else terrifies me. Not just the relationship part, the intimate part too. I thought coming on here would be a quick fix, how wrong was I. I'm young, nice looking, funny and have a great life and still can't get over my fear. Hopefully will change over time

Oh I can hold my own on the looks front and I'm not short of offers I'm just really sceptical now when it comes to relationships. My life couldn't get any better but this scares the shit out of me. I also have my ex to thank for that Until my mindset changes I'll have a damm good party on my wee shelf

Yeah, I do. I've only ever had one girlfriend and I met her when I was 25. I wanted a partner for a long time, but it just never happened. Now it feels like I'm gonna be single forever. Unfortunately it's because I'm still in love with my ex and want her back as sad and pathetic that sounds.

Even though she's moved on I feel kinda guilty being on here and on POF. I don't want a proper relationship, just something casual to distract me, but even then I feel like I'm in the wrong.
