That feeling before a first meet...

So you've connected with someone on here, flirt, come to the conclusion there's chemistry and finally agree to arrange a meet. You fancy the person and are eager to see if they live up to your expectations. What goes through your mind and how do you feel when you set out for the meet? Nervous, excited, anxious, calm? A butterflies in stomach mess or icy cool? Anyone?

I don’t get excited anymore I just go with an open mind and see if there’s a connection in person or if they are actually the person they’ve said they are

I am always absolutely terrified. Terrified that they think they will have been catfished (despite the fact they will have seen plenty of current but flattering pics), terrified that they will think I’m stupid, terrified that I will like them more than they like me (which is frankly the story of my life), terrified that they will message me on the way home and say thanks but no thanks.

And a tiny bit excited.

There are times when I wonder why I put myself through the anxiety of a new meet..!

I still get a bit nervous when I have repeat meets with people. There a couple of guys I meet pretty regularly and we know each other really really well, and I still get a bit nervous before I see them. Ridiculous considering I’ve known them both about a year!

So nervous I could actually be ill. I wonder why I’m doing it, where do they keep their axe etc etc. My hands shake. It’s a shame because I’m sure I don’t show people what I’m actually like because I let nerves get in the way.

The feeling of relief when you realise you get on is immense though. And if the appreciation is mutual, moving on to the next stage is exciting, but the terror kicks in again then too.

What if they don’t like my body, they think I’m too fat, my skills aren’t as good as I thought, maybe I kiss like a fish.

I try to rein in the needy, low self esteem, desperate for reassurance bit of me afterwards, but usual fail miserably and end up sending a message saying “great to meet you, had lots of fun but totally understand if you don’t want to see me again” which makes me look sad as fuck.

When we go for social meet I feel absolutely calm as I go only half expecting for the other party to turn up and if they do only half expecting for it to go any further than just social.

When it's the first play meet then I get excited. Not nervous - purely excited. By the time the meet turns up I'm well turned on by the thought of what's coming alone

As I treat fab the same as if I was meeting someone from a dating site, its a social! I cant stand the word "play".

Since we would have messaged and spoken over a reasonable period of time and already build up a rapper. I feel excited about meeting them but have no expectations. I dont get nervous.

There's a wonderful exciting build up. A little bit of nerves. A little horny. Most excited.

As I get ready and go on my journey it builds and, if all goes to plan, ends in a wonderful orgasm and then there's silence and stillness and off we go all over again

Hiding in the shadows

First time meeting someone, i'm usually a gibbering wreck.

I giggle & tend to talk too much when I'm nervous, I know I do it, so then I start thinking, they'll think I'm a raving lunatic, and try to act cool & not say too much, then I worry they'll think I'm boring.

Seeing someone regularly, I still get excited, I'm like a kid at Christmas for days before, butterflies & silly smiles.

I hope that feeling never stops

The nerves are part of what makes me love meeting!

The day I dont get them will be when I dont meet anymore.

I chanel them positively though- the adrenaline rush can be intoxicating.

I hope I am honest enough with my profile, pictures and messaging that people meeting me don't feel that I am very different in reality- at least, no one has said that!

Mostly I get told that I am exactly like I am on here x

If it's a social then it's mostly excitement mixed with all the 'what ifs' my rambling mind can conjure up. If I find that I'm really attracted to them then I have to concentrate really hard at listening to them as all I can think about is kissing their mouth.

If it's a first play meet then I tend to be a bit more on the nervous side.

If it's a repeat play meet then the adrenaline is pumping, the flutters are doing mad things in my pants, and I'm raring to go

Wow...very interesting feedback

From what i've read, half the posts describe an addictive cocktail of nerves / dread and excitement and others of sheer nerves bordering on terror!

I suppose that nervous feeling can play both ways....either add an element of excitement or be a source of frustration that compromises one's ability to engage and interact.

I'm always excited meeting new people for anything - as they're unknown and unpredictable, potentially different in many ways from others you know. They can spark your own creativity and tap the unexplored aspects of your own personality - that's not to mention all the things you can explore doing differently.

New people - yes! I love novelty

There and to the left a bit

In the days/hours leading up to a meet I get nervous/anxious/worried beyond belief - what if they don't like me in person, what if the sex isn't great, what if I choose the wrong shirt and more besides - then once I'm ready an air of inevitability that I can't back out now kicks in and I just go into quiet yet determined mode.

Fortunately once I'm there I've usually chatted to the person for long enough beforehand to be able to find things to talk about and I tend to just go with the flow although there's still a lot of self-doubt lurking in the background unless we immediately 'click', which, when it happens is a great feeling that sweeps away any concerns immediately.

"I just assume they aren't going to turn up, so I don't really feel anything."

I wouldn’t go as far as assuming they won’t turn up, but probably the thought “fuck! they’re here!” flashes quite prominently when they arrive.

I guess it’s the same mix of nerves and excitement for me that others have said. Especially after they’ve arrived and there is still that anticipation of not knowing how far things will go or if anything will happen.

One of my first meets almost went wrong, as the Air B&B was almost a little too hard for the taxi to find. Fortunately it did, and was a good little ice breaker.
