Do you think social media and the need for getting information on the go quickly has altered your attention span?

If a video on watching doesn't get to the good stuff with 30 seconds I'm moving on to the next one.

Same with porn.... I don't want to see the build up or endless blow jobs.... I wanna see fucking (noisy fucking at that!)

Definitely, I don’t listen to albums anymore, just cherry pick songs. I’ve stopped watching TV cause of it, I can’t sit through a programme without doing something else. I just watch videos on You Tube now.

Iv been this way since birth, my brain ticks too quickly and it feels like the world around me is too slow, I move onto the next thing before the last thing is even half way through, i get bored and fidgety listening to people and want to walk away in mid sentence. It affects my sleep aswell as I cant switch off my thoughts.

I've always had a short attention span for things that don't interest me. My mum used to constantly tell me off for not concentrating when I was a kid. That was because I'd go off into a dream world as soon as I got bored, I still do that now...

I am always doing something while watching TV, I'm watching something right now while reading these. I'm normally knitting or doing a cross stitch, sudoku or playing a card game while watching TV. It is very rare I am just sitting there staring at the idiot box.

I call it the butterfly syndrome.

It’s less that people have a short attention span and more that people are very easily distracted. I can go online to look for a new pair of work trousers and ten minutes later I’m checking out dog shelters or cottages in the Lake District.

You can be mid conversation and see a butterfly and think ‘ooh!! Butterfly......’ then totally forget about the conversation.

Kids seem worse for it. They can't entertain themselves for more than 30 seconds.

When I was a lad we used to have 12 hour car journeys with nothing more than 'I Spy' to keep us from going insane.

The attention thing comes from Dial up speeds when the modem connected up to websites, if you had to wait more than 10 second it was next....

RE porn, thankfully there are plenty of compilation videos that can hone in on your chosen desire

Definitely and I'm sad about it because I used to love books and would spend hours getting lost in the stories. I just can't seem to do it anymore
