Not?

If you're working in a person's house or business and that person made themselves a brew and didn't offer you a cuppa...

Rude ..inconsiderate..or acceptable ?

Its their house and you're there to work, their choice and not rude, they're not obliged to offer refreshments. I would always offer myself but then I'm Irish!

Not rude; a brew offered at the start and one at lunch, the rest you can provide yourself or buy from your customer - you're charging for services, why can't they?

"Power move"

Could be true also, but then nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent

Depends - you're working, they're not!

I usually offer a brew, but don't expect one when I go to other people's houses for work, though sometimes they are offered.

For the record, I'm not a tradesman or woman for that matter...where different rules seem to apply.

I heard of one businessman who invested in a fancy pants coffee maker. When salesmen or buyers arrived ones that in the past tried to screw him on price, he would make one of his really good coffee's. He would then offer a coffee to his eager visitor before pulling out a cheap jar of instant to make theirs...

I think it’s common curtesy, I’d offer a brew or coffee. Or if I’m feeling nice at the end of the day a beer.

Acceptable. You're there to do a job and refreshments shouldn't be expected. No one gets me a drink when I'm at work!!

I will say though if I've got someone at mine doing a job I'll offer them a drink. It's the nice thing to do

I don't expect a brew, if one is offered I more often than not accept, it's those little considerations that often when asked can you just have a look or while you're here ...I often do as a thank you rather than charge for

Tradesmen quite offen accept my brews and cake and then have a brew and food of their own later on (whilst still on the job); none of them have ever offered me a drink or some of their food - so rude!

I’m a builder and work in people’s houses all the time. Very rarely you won’t get offered a brew, I just think it’s a bit weird. But I’ve had customers come out talking to you with a mug in there hand and still not offer you a cup of tea.

If anyone comes to my house it’s just a natural reflex to put the kettle on!

First thing I learned was to offer tradesmen a cuppa.

They do a better job.

Inconsiderate. When we've had tradesmen in, I'm making teas pretty much every hour with biscuits, and normally provide a breakfast sandwich as well.

But I'm ex trade myself so feel a need to keep the workers happy

You know then that if you keep us supplied in tea and biscuits we will do a better job!

As long as they're the good biscuits and not the cheap ones
