Won't get any argument from me. Even in a Messi vs Ronaldo debate, Cristiano wins hands down for me.

The varying types of goals he scores. He's done it at different clubs against tough opposition. Achieved international success. That's before his goals to games ratio, which is just ridiculous. We're blessed to have 2 of the finest footballers to have graced a pitch in the same generation.

Without a doubt he’s the best there has ever been . And he has reached this position through sheer hard work . Always first in and last out in training . A true legend in his own lifetime

Costa Blanca Spain...

Fair play to him.

I saw Best live, Pele in his heyday (admittedly only on TV) ditto Maradona, Cruyff, and pretty much all of the greats in the last 40 odd years.

However Ronaldo is that cut above. For his dedication, longevity, and his stats I will give him the number one spot.

Ronaldo has got where he is through hard work and sheer bloody mindedness. I never saw Pele play live so it's difficult for me to compare, but for me Ronaldo is right up there with him and just ahead of Messi. My only issue with Ronaldo is his arrogance - that bloody smirking and winking just winds people up the wrong way sometimes.

Somewhere In The Ether…

A fantastic player undeniably but his on field histrionics including a proclivity for diving and rolling around in spates of poorly acted ‘agony’ will always keep him outside of my top ten players of all time.

Now the likes of the original Ronaldo on the other hand.....

I used to think he was a right pick. He'd cross the ball, a team mate scores and he's the one trying to claim the credit.

would love to see him back on our screens every week. He's got a problem with Bale and I don't like that.

I don't see him doing that now but I do see him giving everything for his country, the complete player, the complete captain. He's an inspiration to his team mates, a dream for their national manager.

Probably the best player I've ever watched on the TV. I was chuffed for him when they won the euros and deserved to beat my beloved country on the way (semis).

I'd hate to see him kicked, injured and ruled out of the WC

He is giving €18.2m to Spain soon as well in unpaid taxes. Rather than 2 years in prison.

But yeah like so many we hear about, gives a big chunk of his fortune away to charity.

Ronaldo, probably the best of this generation. Different persona on the field to off it. Does fantastic work for charity away from the game. Works incredibly hard to be as good as he is.

Thankfully growing out of the hystryonics of his early years, although still prone to the occasional hissy fit.

Now, Pepe, biggest cry baby, falling over, cheating cnut in the game at the moment.
