I work with a bloke who obviously dyes his hair, looks like it’s painted on with Hammerite, but it never gets mentioned. Only behind his back obviously.

Worked on another site where there foreman would turn up, obviously wearing a wig that looked like a piece of carpet, we carried on talking to him as normal as possible, then laugh once he’s gone.

Another bloke I used to work with had terrible body odour problems, not once did anyone mention it.

Have you had any similar situations, where something obvious just gets ignored, or are you one to bring it up ?

Years ago when I worked in the library, the head librarian had B.O. She was a clean, smart lady who clearly washed but her armpits still smelt.

Nobody said anything to her, but everyone commented on it to each other.

One day after a particularly stinky customer had come in and we,d sprayed airfreshner around, the head librarian turned to me and said it was a shame about the smelly lady and that if she smelt she would want someone to tell her. I still didn't tell her though, that she had B.O. XXX

There was once a new starter in our department, he smelt bad everyday. We had a huddle and decided on the colleague who would tell him he is making the work place unbearable. He thanked us for letting him know and he wasn't aware of it and explained he showers before work but then rides him bike and sweats. He started to put on extra deodorant and started wearing too much aftershave, but that was nicer than the BO scent. haha
