Because someone told the ref he will disappear if he gives England too many decisions.

Because it's all a fix, I thought the idea of all these cameras now were to assist in decisions, however that blatantly wasn't the case tonight. They won though so guess that's all that matters. Good squad played, young blood with the desire to win

Total waste of time, I turned off when Kanes foul didn't get a second look, after the penalty against England stood.

Not entirely sure how all this works tbh, does the referee have an earpiece in and can be alerted to something of this nature if he has missed it?

I thought it was all very dodgy. 1 ref, X2 lino's x1 4th official on the pitch.

X4 refs in the back of the van. All under instruction to clamp down on it. All consistently missing it with it getting worse each time.

I'm glad England beat Tunisia last night I thought they were a cheating, time wasting, fouling, petulant bunch of pricks.

Look at each time England went to take a free kick and the guy just stands there.

England had to beat the ref last night as well I thought.

I know they will get 5 out of 10 ratings but I thought they were hard done by at times and unlucky at others

So why bother commenting (loose term in the case of your 'comment') on a thread about a subject you have no interest?

There's literally 100's of others.

I don't get why folk do it.

It's a good concept, however there needs to be a captains appeal system, where each side gets two chances of asking a ref to look at something that the studio refs have missed. If the incident is proven to have happened and addressed accordingly, then they still have that appeal opportunity remaining. If the appeal isn't upheld then the team loses it. Similar to tennis.

Jog on to something you do like then!

England did well considering it was at least 11 against 12. V.A.R totally redundant last night.

The FA need to lodge a complaint with FIFA over these professional fouls. Whilst I don't believe that they were deliberately ignored it shows that referees aren't all fully trained in the use of VAR.

I would hate to see any team go out because of inconsistency in its use

A complaint to FIFA would do no good, they're as corrupt as the officials they appoint.

Replays show how close the ref was. VAR shouldn't be even brought in to it but due to the poor job by the ref it is.

He didn't need VAR help but ironically did in the end and it failed football.

I thought the ref in the very first game was a bit iffy as well. Perhaps I'm over thinking but they are in a dodgy place playing a dodgy game.

They are getting better and these were high profile failures so other teams will be as concerned about how VAR is being used as we are.

We won, so any complaint wouldn't be seen sour grapes

I'm with you on this one,it was right infront of the ref. He shouldn't of needed var in the first place. Did you see the clip of the ref which showed him signalled simulation to Kane.

Yeah it baffled me. How can it be simulation with clear contact. Would of been a header from 3 yards out? Why would Kane throw himself to the floor.

It make little difference but I'm not English, I'm Welsh. I'm biased towards England but I'm out of the bubble. I'm fairly level headed and fair.

I honestly think something dodgy was going on. Not just the big decisions. The petulant fouls for eg.

Tunisia time wasting, knocking the ball away, not retreating on free kicks, then the ref letting the guy start 5 metres away and charge the free kick down.

Tunisia penalty was correct but the ref didn't think twice. No VAR. He triggered his decision.

Then VAR not even coming into it later on.

Yes, quite laughable really...thank god we won.

Hopefully the standard of reffing will jolt FIFA into doing something about it. Like someone else mentioned, it's not just about the England game, other teams will be unhappy and concerned about the inconsistency and the fact that V.A.R isn't being made full use of as they go into their future games.

Unless everyone else was hallucinating, I'm not quite sure what it was that the referee actually saw

FIFA have now said that they're going to investigate VAR in light of last night's incidents apparently

You on about Kyle Walker/Penalty?

It was a foul anywhere on the pitch. Most if not all pundits seemed in agreement. Not that that matters. Only the opinion of one man mattered and we know the outcome

It seems to me that VAR at corners is not been used apart from the 2 fouls on Kane last night on Sunday night Brazil should have had a penalty yet Lee Dixon felt there was not enough contact to warrant a penalty yet Mark Clattenburg felt it should have been a penalty with regards to the Brazil game

Totally agree on that but I thought they were both (in fact all 3) were penalties.

Walker shouldn't of raised his arm like that.

I don't think the ref set a president (sp) with the first pen, he/they just fucked up with the other two.

I'd be happy if that's the end of that refs WC
