Bedford

Not heard of it, although I do sometimes go to a website that plays 1940s music, it’s a privately run site and it’s excellent for background music

There’s a vintage weekend this weekend at beaulieu, custom cars, hot rods, dancing and all sorts. I’m going Sunday as a treat for Father’s Day with my son

Goodwood is fantastic, the dressed up women have that magical combination of style, class and sexiness.

Is that as in medieval battle reenactment or period costuming? My friends parents does the latter, and I've heard great things about the outfits people make

The Victory Show in Cosby , Leicestershire is set on a 100 acre site over 3 days and is biggest re-enactment show of WWII in the UK.

Camping is available and massive number of people in 1940’s gear. Worth a visit if never been. Not 1940 prices though.

Sarah in a forties / fifties skirt suit (skirt taken in slightly so more of a pencil skirt) seamed stockings and stilettos (yep a bit of fetish) and Rich in a forties suit, all brought off ebay (amazingly enough all genuine as well). Xx

Always at 40s events. At one this weekend. Great days out. Doesn’t matter if you’re really interested in 40s stuff or not. Always good to watch the battles. I usually go nearly every weekend all over the country. Hopefully catch some people at one haha someone mentioned victory show. It’s AMAZING!! Make sure you try go this year, there’s news it might not happen again (police being silly).

I went to the one at Pickering some years ago, they're fun in some ways but also attract lots of diddlywacks, the ones who dress up as SS stormtroopers or wearing chests full of medals that they haven't earned. They are interesting to see lovingly restored period vehicles etc, but be prepared for some oddballs!
