By the river I mean? My fwb has messaged me this morning telling me he has been out since god knows what time as it's the first day of the season.

I've never been fishing but it seems a popular hobby ... Generally for you guys, but do we have any lady fishermen?

I used to when I was younger. I don't have room for my tackle, so it's all at my parents house at the moment. I always found it very meditative.

MrH used to fish but it’s way too quiet a hobby for me.

Anyway then he met me and discovered way more fun hobbies

I go with my 3 guy pals. As long as there's music and beers and someone else puts the bait on the hook for me. It's such good fun

This thread just reminded me of my dad.

When my nephew (his first grandchild) was born he quite proudly proclaimed

"Well that's one birthday I will never forget - it's the first day of the fishing season!"
