So the people I work with who smoke 20-30 fags a day, don't eat properly snacking on biscuits and toast, drink a bottle of wine at least per night, happen to appear 'healthily slim', no snide fatty you're so unhealthy comments. Lucky them

I was so lazy on Sunday when I cycled 52 miles around the cotswolds. And again on Tuesday when I cycled 23 miles to abs from work. My massive medal collection (including a London marathon one) is absolute proof of my laziness as are my 148 parkruns.

Wow what a thread! Without getting into the troll vs humour debate really wanted to have my say. As someone who has been morbidly obese for my entire adult life I have recently joined the gym and taken up walking. OMG it has literally changed my life! In February I could bearly walk 100 metres, I month ago I did 25 miles across north wales in 8 hrs and I tackle Snowdon this weekend.

No its not always easy, yes I still sat here last night and ate chocolate biscuits, yes I still emotionally eat and I've a long journey ahead but its a journey I am enjoying. For so many being overweight is more about lack of self care than we would ever like to admit.

Not all of us. I eat more calories than I burn. They aren't calories from junk food or fast food and I don't own a television. I'm far from lazy and I know about diets; I'm just shit at sticking to one.

I too was very over weight, felt very uncomfortable in my skin so I got off my arse and took up walking. I walked 5k a day and in two months I lost almost two stone.

3 years later I've managed to keep the weight off although I'd still like to drop another 9lb.

I'm far from perfect and I still eat way too much cake!!

I think when you're overweight and considering weight loss it's a bit like deciding to give up smoking. You have to want to for a start and be in the right place emotionally. I'm an emotional eater and also my time of the month fucks me cos it's not just chocolate it's food in general, I never feel full when I'm ovulating. Last year I had to get my arse in gear when I was trying on jeans in a shop and the 12 was too tight for me which isn't big per say but was big for me.

I downloaded my fitness pal and would track every single thing that passed my lips. Only drink water or water with lemon juice, did Keto for 3 weeks, HiiT for 20 mins on treadmill, 40 mins split workout with weights 5c a week, 2 hours kickboxing a week with circuits. I only lost 10lb in weight but went from almost size 14 back to size 8.

If you burn more calories than you consume you will lose weight, it's tried and tested. But some people can't do that. Maybe they all have some mental health issues with food and need to speak to professionals.
