Going topless on the beach.

I had an interesting discussion about it, if it was an ok thing to do on a public beach. I dont have any problems with it, in fact I dont mind to have a second look, whats your view on it?

Brighton - even Hove!

It’s very common in France and no one looks twice (except for me).

I’ve seen topless ladies on Sussex beaches but they tend to be the quieter beaches.

There is a nudist beach in north wales but ive never been to it

Unfortunately as some of the replies above prove, some brits still see nudity on a beach as something kinky or something to perv or snigger over.

Spent a week on a nudist beach with my kid in Europe last year and it was a totally different atmosphere

I go topless on continental beaches and often naked people don't turn a hair.

In this country I will do it discreetly but there's a different attitude to nudity here and people can react in a way that makes me feel uncomfortable eg the guy who paddled his canoe past four gazillion times.

If I had smaller boobs then I would have no problem but I’m too self conscious. When I have done it, I’ve put my top back on.

How about the fully clothed guy who stood over me and said "you're hidden away. I suppose that was the idea" whilst staring at my unclothed body. Mr N requested politely that he removed himself pronto.

Perhaps if you were on a European beach, Sun, good company and all shapes and sizes not batting an eye...there’s much more acceptance over there, though I’m not ignoring your own thoughts!

I've been a naturist most of my adult life, but wouldn't do it on my local beach as there's families, young children - possibly my own, or their friends there.

Go 2 miles down the road though I'm starkers

I always think its a shame that you can't be naked in the UK without being sexualized. really miss going to the sauna naked for example and I still snigger at people inchanging rooms at the pool when the are awkwardly trying to change without showing anything...

In Menorca last year the beach we used to go to had a mix of topless,naked and clothed people. Nobody batted an eyelid.

Well both of us batted an eyelid when a beautiful young woman with long hair, a simple long skirt, halter neck top and floppy brimmed sun hat walked along the beach, took her clothes off to reveal a gorgeous body and walked naked into the sea.

I went topless on my last holiday abroad (pre kids)

to Kefalonia, but we were always at the quieter end of the beach away from the sunbeds.

I loved swimming topless, it felt really carefree.

It must have done something for my ex too as he proposed on that holiday!

I wouldn’t do it here though - UK men can be a bit more letchy. Continental men are like “ffs yet another pair of tits ”

Mrs hates tan lines so during the summer we try to go to nudist beaches or she goes topless in the garden
