I came here for friendship without the pressure of a relationship. It wasn't a good time for me to start anything.

I went and caught the feels though and in a way I feel like it's more genuine because we did meet here, neither of us were looking for anything more which I think is the issue with dating sites, people looking for love often see it when it's not there.

I’ve had more meets from POF than from here. More sex also. Pretty much all women on POF say “not looking for ONS or casual,” but if reasonably fit, good company and a good first date, it’s pretty much guaranteed on a second date. Met some wonderful women I have to say, plus a few nutters. Just out of a long term and sexually stagnant marriage so not looking for a serious 1-2-1 relationship and don’t wish to string anyone along that is hoping for that from me. Hence being on here. I find it very refreshing to be amongst other likeminded filthy fuckers and not made to feel I’m something of a pervert.

I'm here because I'm not looking for a boyfriend, or for someone to 'date'. I'm very happy being single, but celibacy isn't for me. I've never used a 'dating' site,

although I'm told that many of them are essentially full of people who simply want to get laid.

I could use a dating site but just can't dedicate enough of my time to it. Fab relationships are less pressure as there is a mutual understanding right at the start.

Plus I like the verity of Fab. I don't just have to meet single women I can meet couples too.

That's a really good point, I do think that can happen. People sometimes think it's love because that's what they want. But it's not.

An old friend once said often people just fall in love with the feelings of being happy- and not actually in love with the other person.

If I were single and looking for one-to-one sex, my starting point would be a dating site, as was the case 15 years ago. I prefer to have a ‘date’ prior to sex, and I dislike this Fab thing about meeting for a coffee social which I regard as decidedly unerotic. That being said, if I were to find that guys from dating sites objected to me having multiple partners, then I guess i’d have to use a swingers site instead and hope to find the guys who are willing to date me and not get jealous. But it’s all hypothetical because I’m not single.

Originally my reasons were complex but probably more just about sex and a diversion from the ordinary day to day stuff. Then I discovered the forums...

Now it's even more complex and probably a lot less easy than when I first joined. Sex can be easy, but sex in a vacuum with no connection now feels more than a little bit soulless.

And those connections can make it so complicated....

Maybe i'm old fashioned, i don't know. But i have always regarded dating sites as sites to look for a date that might lead to a relationship. I don't want a relationship and havn't wanted one since my wife died. I do want sex though, this is the perfect place for me because it works.
