Somewhere nearby

The European Song by Aberdeen Football Club, from 1983, is a belter.

I still know all the words and at family get together after drinks have been had someone usually starts the communal singing with a blast of this!

The funniest I heard was when the Rangers keeper had done some press about suffering from mild schizophrenia. The next game he played in the fans were singing “there’s only 2 Andy Gorams.......”

Well it’s obviously We Have a Dream, Scotland, 1978.

It’s a shame the Scottish dream has had to be modified from winning the damn thing to just actually qualifying.

Put'm under pressure

"We're all part of Jamie's army,

We're all of to Italy,

And we'll really shake'm up

When we win the world cup

Cause Ireland are the greatest football team"

The offical song for Jack Charltan's Ireland team in Italia 90

Ireland's first time reaching the finals, the whole country went beserk

For pure hairs standing up on back of neck you can’t beat ‘Footballs Coming Home’ sang aloud by all the crowd at Wembley at Euro 96!

There and to the left a bit

Surprised there's been no mention for Ossie's Dream yet

Really can't beat World In Motion or Three Lions though.

Sadly the days of football songs being released are long gone - they were mostly crap for sure but always raised a smile.

Think Steve Archibald is one of the few people to appear twice in the same edition of Top Of The Pops after appearing in 1982 supporting the Spurs Cup Final song and the Scotland World Cup song
