Seriously, if Poundland is in trouble, then how is the rest of the high street going to cope in the retail world.

I thought Poundland was the cockroach of the retail world and could survive a nuclear war!

(Yeah, I shop at Poundland too. Who doesn't?)

This is it.

They both sell some stuff for more than a quid. They all do. I haven't been in a Sam's 99p/PoundLAND/poundWORLD shop that sell things for only a quid. That's why I couldn't understand the point that there was a world of difference between the two shops.

I can be see the difference. Maybe the person who raised the point works on either of these shops or is in the general retail industry.

There's a lot of competition for these types of retailers and their profit margins must be razor thin, especially with the pound dropping in value.

Retail is a mess at the moment.

There's nothing wrong with my profile, and as you know you can be put on the naughty step for making comment without being asked to.

You was quick to delete your post though hahaha

She wasn't talking about your profile.

I saw what she posted "

So did I.

So you haven't left the thread?

I see...

And who said I made a comment that needed permission?

You quoted my profile may need a tweak..... that's against fab rules unless I've asked for an opinion.

Never mind... I'm blocking you anyway "

The 99p stores must be rubbing their hands together in glee.

I was recently in a PoundWorld with my sister, as she had seen an ad for those retro bubble back packs and wanted one for a child. We searched for ages until we asked a store worker where they were. Turned out we should have been in Poundland.

They both sell a lot of tat but my sister is a bargain hunter and gets coffee, soup, salmon and other stuff in them and says they are cheaper.

Some people will be going in looking for sale items, trying to profit from their troubles

The weaker UK£ isn't helping many retailers / customers
