Can't stand it.... but then again I'm from the other end of the East Lancs so it's probably a mutual feeling.

I was born and bred in deepest darkest Liverpool and even I can’t stand a strong scouse accent. It grates on me, I’ve toned down my accent over the years.

"hate it hate it hate, i prefer how we sounded back in the 60s, it’s really course now and i cringe whenever i hear the accent on the telly."

My scouse accent is grounded in the 60’s but after 35 years living outside of Liverpool it has mellowed and altered a fair bit. I still enjoy hearing it while out and about or when I get back to Liverpool for visits

How did you tone it down? My accent hasn’t changed to pure Scouse even though I work in an office with full on scousers - it’s like a whole different language sometimes

I’ve lived all over the place from Germany to Chester and I mixed with kids from all over the country so my accent was diluted naturally over the years. To people not from Liverpool I still sound scouse but I don’t talk in the lingo if you know what I mean. I talk with proper words.

Scouse accent is sexy as hell - if it's not too Jackie/Jimmy Corkhill like!

I was born in the depths of Lpool, proud of my roots too!

I've lived in a few different places around the country, some can tell I'm from here and some struggle to pin point??
