"Simon Pegg has said in the past, “Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It’s basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating.” So what gets your inner geek going? What do you shamelessly love without fear of reprisal?" You first

"Having a keen interest in something isn't really geeky, I like Star wars/sci-fi movies and have watched a lot of them, To me being geeky would be going the cinema at midnight to watch the first screening then watching it again 2-3 times, Dressing up as characters and buying all the merchandise etc or is that obsessive " I think it's when you start incorporating yoda impressions into your seduction techniques, then you know you have a problem

For some of them (depending on spare time) I've gone back to watch them again. I have never dressed up as a character though. So am I geeky, or not?

I absorb info really well so any fandoms I get into I do a bit of research and get a little obsessed Geeky has Superman Doctor Who and Battlestar galactica in a joint tattoo We don’t hide our geeky side the whole point of being a geek is being proud and unashamed of what you like! Being a geek is extremely liberating.” So what gets your inner geek going? What do you shamelessly love without fear of reprisal?" Our wedding was a true geek fest, we decorated in comic book colours, the look of horror on the mother in laws face when I said black table cloths! But when she saw the other colours she totally got what we meant, our wedding cake was proper ‘kids birthday cake’ stuff (think there is a pic on here) and was totally geeky in everyway, even the colour was bright red! The only draw back was people from my work assumed it was a fancy dress reception (instead of asking me) so stayed away in droves, I was a bit sad about it but now I don’t actually give a fuck what they thought because you know what we had a fucking brilliant time! Even the pub played movie soundtracks to marvel films etc while our guests arrived, it was a lovely touch and wasn’t something we requested. I’d do it again tomorrow. I don’t know what makes me geeky, I’m not afraid to say I like sci fi films etc, I love going to comic con like ads mentioned. I love anything that is remotely geeky when it comes to dress etc. If I could I would dress very alternative but I’m not confident enough to try it. Even at my work hen party that I had with my residents my boss had superhero cupcakes made for me, she ‘got it’ totally lol. Geeky x

"I think "geek" has kind of lost it's meaning. It used to mean an interest in something vaguely academic with enthusiasm. I think it now means wearing false glasses and liking generic mainstream American superhero movies that require little to no thought." Yeah I'd agree with that. When Lord Of the Rings came out everyone and their dog considered themselves as a geek because it was the popular thing at the time. However some of us had already been into D&D and had read all the books and had the piss taken out of us for doing so lol
