Not formally. I used to keep a spreadsheet and would if i needed to be a certain weight for a fight or something. But day to day just try and keep my meals to 600 calories and eat low calories snacks like sea.

Nope.

I’m following weight watchers. Previously did SlimmingWorld and only lost 15lb in 10 months. So far I’ve lost 30lbs in 4 months and it’s going well.

I’m thrilled to be 3 stone lighter than when Shaggy and I got married. From being a size 22 I’m now into a 16/18. Bought size 16 skinny jeans from primark last week

Yes mynetdiary is better cos it got more more features and as well when you enter how many minutes you have walked your total calorie budget for the day changes so you have to eat more to cover those calories as well and the overall layout is easier to navigate through as you set your target weight and it calculate how long it could take you to get there, how is fitbit? x.

I'm not qualified to contribute to this thread (I know its never stopped me in the past ). I offered someone a biscuit at work the other day and she said "how many sins is that?" Seeing the bemused look on my face she explained that its actually "syns" and a way of keeping track of what you eat.

I used to.

It was quite an eye opener in terms of portion control etc.

These days, I pretty much know how to ear to lose about 1lb a week and can dial in a cut fairly easily.

If I'm cutting and haven't lost for a couple of weeks, I'll log just to confirm my intake and adjust accordingly.

There's a street in reading which has at least 40 take aways on it. I once calculated how many take aways they would need sell to be profitable and roughly how many calories that would have per head of the population of Reading. Then assume there are at least 3 other similar streets in Reading and you realise why the country is so fucking fat.

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

I keep an eye on them, but mainly because I eat oily fish, nuts, seeds and the good fats. Obviously I have to limit them because they’re quite high in calories.

The fitbit is useful because it logs your steps and activity for you, and MFP makes it easier to find some foods to log, but that gets tedious - I was glad I ate a few things repeatedly. It was useful to calculate how extreme I actually had to get to start to lose.

The closer you get to target the harder it is. I've stayed the same for 3 weeks then finally lost 2lbs this week. I too stick to 1200 cals but found that you can eat too little and not lose. I've increased my exercise and become less focused on losing my last 7lbs and more focused on toning.

Make sure you aren't having empty calories (I'm terrible for doing that though as I do like the odd glass of wine).

The best thing to do when in a plateu is to change things up, calorie cycling will help as you have to confuse the body with the intake, an example is, 5 low days with 2 high days.

That seems to be a good app too and yes, it can get abit tedious, but a great tool to keep you on track as you reach your goal, it is the same when dieting down to get a 6pack you have to get low as 10x calorie per pound body weight, although the results are worth it.

It depends, if you eat around 600 - 800 on the other days you could push it to 1200 on those 2 days, see how it feels, cos it feels like a treat when intruducing high days, you could play around with the days to create a zig zag plan, the 2nd week you could have the high days on different days.

"I do as have to hit my macros each day as I lift weights. I like to use apps to help me. I tried myfitnesspal, it was good, but last week I found a better one called mynetdiary, it is fun and interactive

Why is it better Shag? I've used fitbit/mfp to find out what my average net numbers were but I don't bother all the time. Yes mynetdiary is better cos it got more more features and as well when you enter how many minutes you have walked your total calorie budget for the day changes so you have to eat more to cover those calories as well and the overall layout is easier to navigate through as you set your target weight and it calculate how long it could take you to get there, how is fitbit? x.

The fitbit is useful because it logs your steps and activity for you, and MFP makes it easier to find some foods to log, but that gets tedious - I was glad I ate a few things repeatedly. It was useful to calculate how extreme I actually had to get to start to lose. That seems to be a good app too and yes, it can get abit tedious, but a great tool to keep you on track as you reach your goal, it is the same when dieting down to get a 6pack you have to get low as 10x calorie per pound body weight, although the results are worth it.

Pha, I can't have anywhere near that many if I want to lose! "

I see and yes, it could be alot that too.

There's no such thing as calories of a weekend!! They're are the rules!!!

Btw, are you the founder of this new app "

That is a good rule too and no. I am not founder of the app, but it would be good if I was lol
