Just watched how the young ones changed comedy. Will worth a watch on catch up on Gold

Vyvyan: I must be hallucinating. What’s a good thing for a hangover?

Mike: Drinking heavily the night before.

I used to love the young ones when I was a lot younger I think I was around 6? My Dad found some betamax videos at work with them recorded on and I used to watch it every weekend, my Mum wasn't impressed that my Dad had been letting me watch it or that I knew it word for word.

I also recall being astounded none of my school friends had even heard of it

Loved it. Came to it through “bottom” and didn’t realise until a little while ago they were in purgatory. Just thought it was mad, crazy loons when I was a kid.

Well worth a read is an interview with Ade Edmondson in the Guardian from about two years ago - he talks about missing Rik Mayall and very touching. They seemed like an old married couple who were madly in love with each other.

Ade Edmondson was at the NEC the weekend just gone signing autographs most likely due to his bit in the last star wars film

Yeah I watched it and enjoyed it at the time - though not sure I would now! A little too anarchic and off the wall for me these days!

Strangely enough, Dave bumped into Rick about 28 years ago - in Boston McDonalds! He was surprisingly short (in spite of his Cuban heels) but a really nice guy.

My half cousin went to school with ade. He put a brick through my great aunt and uncles window by accident. Apparently he was like he is on TV (I'm guessing that is more his casualty days than young ones/bottom/comic strip)

The outside shots of Guesthouse Paradise were shot on the Isle of Wight. The Rik and Ad were both very approachable in their free time during their stay.
