It's doing my head in! Eyes are as sore as fuck, itchy and swollen due to running them all bleedin day.

Piriton is supposed to be good.. but not helping much here.

What's other people's remedies for such problems?

Get natural local honey. It has to be local and not shop bought crap.

Two cucumber slices on your eyelids don't forget to close eyes first! will help too.

Could be just a bad day for pollen, or you might need a particular active ingredient for it to be effective. Try a couple of different ones to see if it helps at all.

I've stayed indoors today but my asthma is playing up which is unusual for me.

Try regularly washing your face, wearing eye protection such as sunglasses, put Vaseline up your nose. Stay indoors if possible, try a different antihistamine to find out which works best for you. Try nasal spray too.

My lung condition isn't that bad considering the pollen out there.

Tried a damp cloth over eyes and they are a little less sore now, suppose I had better venture outside eventually

Local farm shops will have some in but you have to eat it regularly and for some time for it to have any effect.

Northampton Somewhere

My son has been experimenting with taking his tablet at different times. Just before bed seems to help his symptoms the next day ~ mainly sneezing though.

Mine is truly awful today and I use local honey. I can't see my eyes are so red and sore.

I use Piriton. Beconase nasal spray and Opticrom eye drops. Not really touching it so the pollen count must be sky high.

Essex.

I take Loretadine tablets and they seem pretty good.

Beaconase(sp?) nasal spray, also helps my eyes.

A little petrolium jelly round the outside of your nostrils, supposed to trap pollen. Not sure...

Sun glasses when outside.

Hair and face wash before bed, ideally with clean pillow cases.

Lay down with a damp flannel across your eyes.

If all else fails, go scuba diving, I use to notice a big difference after a few mins...

Hope one or two of those help...

Reading

Check the active ingredient.

For years loratidine worked for me then one year it just didn't touch it.

Switched to cetirizine hydrochloride.

Just get the generic ones as they are all the same but way cheaper.

You could also try a neti pot (couple of quid on Amazon) where you wash out your synus with salt water.

Do you have hairy nostrils? if so get rid of the hair up your nose as this is what the tiny pollen particles are clinging on to

I take loratadine twice a day, nose drops, ear drops, eye drops, all on prescription. I also buy an over the counter nose spray. I put vaseline up my nose. Helps a bit. The local honey didnt help at all.

Hayfever is the only thing I would change about myself if I could.

Now doing 1 loratadine tablet and Beconase Nasal Spray. It's my life from Feb until Nov. However, when I visit the states it doesn't happen. Maybe I need to emigrate?

Slough Windsor ish

Ive been the same. I had grown out of it in my teens but this years been horrible. I look like ive been binge watching Watership Down.

My eyes are rednd puffy and cnstantly streaming.

Ive found the Optimist eyye spray has been help. Using local honey is meant to work, dont know if Id be worse without it though.

Antihistamines dont help at all just make me sleepy

Opticrom eye drops worked for me, unfortunately had to stop using them as they aggravated my existing dry eye condition.

Wear wraparound sunglasses and stay indoors if possible when pollen count is high.

No. Once they've come out it's OK. It's definitely hayfever related.

Any of the antihistamines with cetrizine, beconase nasal spray and hayfever eye drops. All 3 together if used consistently work a treat for me
