Some odd people on here. Genuinely cancel a meet because one of you is actually ill and instantly blocked. Win/win we suppose if that's the attitude!

Nothing more frustrated than when there is a genuine reason and people block you. Had it done to us.

Evennexolained face to face at a social event why we had cancelled.

Still blocked. Lol. X

You could be the straw that broke the camels back, if they’ve experienced a run of cancellations. Or that could just be the way they operate, it’s not wrong

I get what you’re saying but to play devils advocate, if you get stood up a lot, which I do, it’s easy to think ‘aye. Here’s another one’ and you’re right it shouldn’t be mine (or anyone’s) attitude but it’s bore of frustration I think x

Just a bit humph, We genuinely liked them and wanted to meet. Just not fit for human consumption today.

Probably lack of trust in what you said. You can thank the idiots on here for that. Like one planned meet I had in previous couple life, around 8 years ago. Couple had been messaging us for a while. We weren’t sure because they were younger than us, but they convinced us that wasn’t a problem.

I book the Friday afternoon off work to get ready. Relaxing in the bath and get a message saying the guy had hurt his back and couldn’t meet. Spoke on the phone to them, both seemed genuinely apologetic. Next day they had a new verification showing for the previous night from another couple.

I think people forget that we all have a life away from here and it sometimes gets in the way....

Maybe they have had people waste their time and think everyone is the same,plenty more people out there op.Hope you feel better soon.

Over the roundabout and then turn right.

We all get cancellations from time to time, though we prefer a cancellation to a no show.

We usually accept a first time cancellation whatever the reason, but a second one raises questions.

We keep plan B in reserve.

A no show and no message is not acceptable.

Thats a poo thing for them to have done.

I always say just be honest. If you got a better offer or cold feet or just can't be arsed, just say so as early as possible.

Tbh, can't quite get to grips with the better offer scenario either. If you do then you shouldn't have commited to the 1st offer as it obviously wasn't quite what you wanted. Cold feet is fine but none of this hedging your bets BS.

Anyway back to playing nursemaid to the dying man!

If they are an experienced couple , they will have had many cancellations over the years . I would guess they simply block and move on in order that they don’t get annoyed by it .

Of course it isn’t your fault that one of you is genuinely ill , but as you can see from this thread already - plenty of people spout all manner of bullshit when cancelling meets . At least you let them know in good time , and that’s more than many do .

I have to say if I had a penny for everyone that said they wanted to meet me and then ghosted I’d be rich.

I’m completely ambivalent to anyone saying they want to meet now. It’s taken all the fun out of Fab for me.

Our plan B is usually a club. Alternatively we may decide to check into a hotel.
