Kenneth Williams or Charles Hawtrey - the characters were basically all the same irregardless of the film !

The films were so bad you just have to love em. Two scenes come to mind:

Carry on Dick, when Kenneth Williams is clip-clopping his horse along a tarmac road complete with white lines down the middle (very 18th century)

For me, its "Carry on up the Khyber".

"Fakir....Off"!

The whole dinner party scene at the end with Joan Simms saying "Oh dear, I appear to be a little plastered"!

Plus, it has someone named "Bunged-it-in of Jacksy"

'Carry on Screaming' is my fav Title, dunno why it doesn't get shown on TV as often as the others.

Sid James is great....apparently I laugh like him

...that's probably not so great.

Carry on behind is one of my faves and Peter Butterworth and Kenneth Connor always make me laugh but its very hard to choose as they all worthy of a giggle or two.

Didn't like Carry on Columbus though, that one was like the pervy uncle n0-one talks about.

I loved all the carry on films as a child,I can't pick a favourite,possibly carry on up the khyber and carry on screaming and carry on abroad and carry on camping and carry on Cleo.......I really could'nt choose one

My fave was Carry on Screaming - I was sent a pic by a guy once who was the spitting image of Oddbod. My fave actor in the carry ons was Kenneth Williams, he was brilliant.

I quite liked Carry on Camping too. They were harmless fun weren't they.

Love all of them but if I had to choose would be Carry on Camping and Carry on Abroad.

Love the stories behind the films even more. Sid James had already spent every pay check for the movies at the dog track before he even took part and Kenneth Williams used them to fund his forrays to Morrocco to find nice young men. The fact that Sid James only came here from South Africa at 22 and put on a cockney mockney accent shows that he is a darn sight better than that dick, van dyke. Always found his laugh and Williams nasal tones great but preffered him in willow the whisp and jackanory.

They were all buggers off the set

Hattie Jaques liked her young men, Charles Hawtrey was always after the blokes (he ended up singing and entertaining sailors for drinks at the end of his life) Joan Simms enjoyed her booze but remained close to her immediate family, Terry Scott enjoyed a drink or two, too.

They can't/wont make films like those again.
