Exactly. If I had the option, I'd put "hugely massive" to avoid disappointing people. I've seen some girls profile saying curvy because they are skinny but are not flat chested.

"There is large and there is fabulous.. just tick the right boxes. It’s ok to be who you are. "

Is fabulous a shape?

It's listed after large on the list fab gives us so does that mean it refers to bigger builds?

If this is the case then does that mean slimmer people can't describe themselves as fabulous?

OP body shape is always discussed on fab and can lead to some rather heated debates. The options the site gives are rather limited and some people will see themselves rather differently to the way others see them. There are a lot of gentlemen on here who I would describe as large but who choose slim or average to describe themselves.

When searching make sure you read the whole profile and look at the pictures. People will often put details about their body shape/size in the text. If there are no pictures and very little in the profile then just move on to someone else, don't waste your own time messaging if you can't tell what shape/size that are.

A curve is an edge of a round shape. How big the shape is is not relevant.

Plus, that’s what photos are for!!

One persons ‘curvy’ is another persons ‘skinny’

Just like you say you’re kinky. To me you might be quite mainstream, but if you think you’re kinky then who am I to argue?!

I see ‘curvy’ & I assume bigger girls. Cupid’s BBW night is called Curvy Thursday. Townhouse’s Buxom Babes party has the strapline ‘flaunt your curves’

Slim girls with boobs I’d class as ‘athletic’ - but it’s down to how people see themselves!

OP just out of interest was your meet a social or a play meet?

I always insist on a social meet first, that way if someone doesn't look like their pictures I'm not too disappointed. At worst I have met someone new and had a cuppa and a chat. I've not wasted any time because I go with no expectations and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

There are some heavier woman on here that are gorgeous to be honest and my favourite woman on the whole site is certainly curvy.

But it is vile for someone just to turn round to someone and call them fat. It’s rude and discriminatory.

The chances of this person being on the forum are very very slim as they told me they didn’t use it. So I know I won’t be upsetting anyone.. I just needed to let out a little frustration that’s all. My job doesn’t give me much free time so when it’s wasted it’s frustrating.

The Op - while clearly not worrying about upsetting people - does have a valid point.

There is a limited number of body type options - which definitely does not help at all. Even dress sizes may not make things clearer. No matter how many options you have they rely on the honesty of the individual to select the relevant one.

We have seen people put curvy down when large/ample would probably be a better description. But then it all depends on perception. We would say curvy could be 12/14 it could even be as low as 10 and as high as 16 depending upon someone’s height, breasts and bum, ample 16-20 and large 20+.

Others may see it differently. However not all people are attracted to larger people or to skinny people.

I guess that is the case for the Op, maybe they invested time messaging with someone they thought description wise they would find attractive - only to find they had been deceived (unwittingly or purposefully).

It may limit our meets but we try not to chat to people unless we’ve seen at least a body picture of both people (if a couple) and we have body pictures of us both on ours so as to avoid issues like the Op has had.

We have put missy down as average. I think she is curvy but others may feel curvy means a larger lady. Missy is size ten with nice boobs and a nice bum so to me has curves. I am down as athletic, I don’t have perfect abs and pecs but have a 38” chest and a 30” waist. Some may say I’m skinny.

However we have been messaged by some who have claimed to be average or curvy, chatted, got close to arranging a meet, exchanged photos and they have been a million miles off what we would have classed them as.

It’s a difficult one to be honest, pictures aren’t always a perfect system as they can be taken at flattering angles too.

When we get messages from potentials I always say “thanks for messaging, I’m a big girl and totally understand if that’s not your thing” because I would be mortified if I had arranged a social and the guys time was wasted as I’m bigger than he was expecting, I also always check out their previous verifications to see if they were larger ladies, puts my mind at rest

I really don’t think it matters what you put as your body size as long as you have pictures to represent what you actually look like. Everyone is curvy really. I’ve seen very slim guys put ‘athletic’, it’s really just your own perception

I really don’t think it matters what you put as your body size as long as you have pictures to represent what you actually look like. Everyone is curvy really. I’ve seen very slim guys put ‘athletic’, it’s really just your own perception

I put average as didn't know what to put! I have curves? Am fit but athletic should mean sports fit? I'm not slim? It is difficult... "

We’re all completely fabulous though!

"The Op - while clearly not worrying about upsetting people - does have a valid point.

Never understand why people aren’t honest. I always make sure any potential meet knows I’m not skinny and send a body pic to allow them to make informed choice. I’ve had guys use pics that aren’t even them or pics from when they were younger and have completely changed since. Just suck it up and be honest!! It’s not like you won’t get found out if you actually meet.

Curvy. Describes a shape NOT SIZE. Size 10 lady can be curvy as can a size 18 lady. Personally I find a lady with curves a huge turn on but we a have diffrent tastes so we should not judge .

People lie to get a meet, i don’t know why they do it, cause as soon as you do meet the lies become obvious, I can only assume the person who told the lies will still get to have their social or more cause the other person feels obliged, so far, that tactic has not worked with guys who have given a few mistruths when meeting my wife, she’s just left them.

People will say anything to get a meet.

I’m not married

I’m 35

I’m straight (this being the biggest of them all)

i’m well endowed

i’m a quick repeater

i’m not selfish in bed..........

I'm the same! I have even made a point of stating my size and height because I'd hate anyone to meet me and be disappointed.

Some people are confident with their size and its not a issue for them and they may see themselves as curvy who are we to say they are large rather than curvy.

I know we all have preference of people size and shape. Maybe a few more tactful questions before a meet maybe required.

OP try not to see it as wasted time, look at it as experience and good luck with your next adventure

So the issue isn't that she was fat but that she lied to you.... Also, this will probably get deleted as you are discussing a member on here.

Next time do your due diligence. Ask for full length pics, face time or Skype or can on here.

It's disappointing that you feel mislead but it's no reason to start a thread about it.

It is hard, I think I’ve described myself as ‘average’ and you’re right you can’t use dress sizes - I’m a size 8 but I’m also absolutely tiny making me look ‘chubby’ where as the same 8 on a girl of 5’7 you would call her skinny.

I know you can’t help who you fancy but bashing people for not knowing what box to tick is a little unfair

People have seen me in person and been surprised that I'm a size 20 dress. I've been told I'm not large or ample but curvy. It's very difficult to describe a body size or shape. I would go with Apple shape with a fat arse and saggy stomach for myself if I had to.

We’ve all been there with disappointment and fibs. I get where the op is coming from. I try and make sure that it is clear that I’m wobbly and I mean wobbly. I’ve got pics with the rolls that I have going on (I don’t mean a ham roll!). I also look at veris to see if they have met up with others who are a similar build etc to me. There is nothing worse than having one pic in your head to find someone else, height is always the disappointment for me, Fab world seems to add a couple of inches to a few on here and then they magically shrink when you meet them!

The problem is that the OP is a guy. Therefore, according to the site rules he isn’t allowed to complain about anything.

Here’s a generalisation. 60% of the UK adult population are overweight or even more obese. There’s a huge reluctance to admit that it’s a problem, particularly on this website from a self entitled group that maintain that it should be sexy, despite trying to disguise the fact in their profile descriptions and their carefully angled photos.

To prevent the ‘deceit’ as mentioned in previous posts the site needs either accurate height/weight data, or compulsory full length standing photographs. I suspect that the requirement to do this would not be popular.

It’s tricky when it comes to mentioning specific cases, but in fairness to the OP I see plenty of threads and status updates talking about inaccuracies of profiles written by women and couples.

Just to prove that it does happen, I was talking on the phone once to a girl (no longer on the site) that told me she had been told she wasn’t allowed to do a parachute jump because she was way above the weight limit. Her profile said curvy. I met her for a coffee anyway because she was fun to chat to.

Would I have sex with an someone who is over weight? Yes. Infact when I married my husband he was 21 stone.

I put curvy because I have an arse and I go in and out on my hips. I've been told that I should put slimnor even athletic, I'm not athletic body type at all. Athletic on a female would be body fat of under 20% with noticeable muscle definition in quads, biceps and abs. I think I'm curvy so I use curvy and think it's an accurate description.

"Unfortunately the site doesn't give us the option to describe our body shape as massive or huge, so you will just have to put up with curvy OP

maybe the site could provide a series of graduated female silhouettes, slowly blocking out a sun icon, for us to choose from, we can all choose something a little more accurrate, and in a very simple form for those that struggle..

If that were the case Id go with the total eclipse silhouette

Why am I now singing Bonnie Tyler

"well I'm with the OP on this though he could have said it in a better way

to mislead anyone isn't going to work out well

Agreed here, but how people run their profiles is just another filter, you know?

If you don't like the way they do it, no one is forcing you to meet them!"

But if you have been interested in meeting someone and they are not the same as you were expecting, because they deliberately displayed specific photos to mislead you, then that is wrong.

I chose to tick ample to better describe my jigglyness and squishability. Plus tried to be as honest as possible with my pics, no filters and a good mix of angles.

I feel you on this OP. So many men claiming to be funny, bright, and capable of being an amazing lover yet have less imagination and skill than a can of beans.

Hey guys. We think you are fit as fuck, but then we’re bias? Lol what if was about cock size, there’s no way there would be a fib there. Lol

I think we all know this one well, we say on our profile what dress size I am if someone is put off by that it is their issue.

Must admit this is why we only meet at clubs means we don’t have to make excuses if there isn’t the attraction "

Yes ! I’m really put off when a man says he is curvy . Men should not be curvy .

Women can be curvy whatever size they are as the word means shape ! In and out hips waist boobs curves . Some women are slim and boyish they are not curvy . Despite my size 20 frame I am very curvy

At the end of the day it all comes down to people hiding things to get meets.

Sometimes it's size,or marital status or age.

Most of the time they are found out and someone is left annoyed/disappointed.

Sadly people lie to get meets ,on my single profile I had a social with a man who stated he was 35.it was more like 55 when he turned up,I was irritated and nothing came of it.

So can kind of see op's point.

I met a man who said he was 5ft 4in on his profile which is quite short for a man. Im only5ft 2in so it didnt bother me. When he arrived at the pub he wasnt as tall as the bar!

We chatted and had a laugh about it but he was adamant 3ft 7in was not an option in the height section.

It's a form of time wasting and it's fair enough that you're pissed off.

If a woman turned up to find the 6ft man was only 5ft or the 40 yr old man was actually 60, she'd be getting virtual hugs all over the thread. "

Agree with this. I would be fuming but I take extra steps to make sure I’m meeting exactly who I’m meeting.

I dislike the categories to be honest.

I consider myself to be curvy but I can't label myself as curvy as apparently that label refers to larger ladies than myself.

I'm not average as I train hard in the gym and have decent muscle tone, however, at the moment I hate to class myself as Athletic because my abs aren't showing through.

I went with Athletic though.

"It is hard, I think I’ve described myself as ‘average’ and you’re right you can’t use dress sizes - I’m a size 8 but I’m also absolutely tiny making me look ‘chubby’ where as the same 8 on a girl of 5’7 you would call her skinny.

I know you can’t help who you fancy but bashing people for not knowing what box to tick is a little unfair

"

You're absolutely right about dress sizes! It's a measurement that changes hugely with height! I'm near to 5ft11 and a size 12 which is a totally different size visually to someone who is 5ft and size 12!

That's the problem. So many very overweight people use curvy that it now means obese, on here. I curve in places but my stomach is too big to call myself curvy. Curvy women have a defined waist that is much smaller than the boobs and bum.

If I started a thread every time I met a man who wasn't as talk as his profile said, or his cock was a couple of inches shorter, or his abs had disappeared, or he was a smoker really I'd be called a drama queen or attention seekers.

We have to accept that people aren't always honest.

Now you know to be more diligent in your pre-meet research, good luck.

"To be fair to the OP, I can see where he’s coming from. It’s exactly the same as a guy putting 6 inches on his height. Cut him some slack...

maybe if it was just a generalisation it's just tactless, but it's a bit nasty to refer to someone from here who might read it!

Could’ve been put a bit more diplomatically, but we constantly read threads from women about being misled. It’s frustrating when it happens to any of us. "

Couldn't agree more.

A dress size indicator on profiles would help but liars will always tell lies.

Just because a guy wants to know dress size doesn't mean he wants slimmer women.
