I always look at the background of photos before I look at the person in them, if their house is dirty then I assume that they will be too and not in the way I would like. I’ve been put off by yellow net curtains, mouldy bathroom grout, unwashed pots in the sink, dirty floors and skirting boards, overflowing ashtrays and plenty of other things, I always say if that’s the photo they think does them the most justice then they’re not for us.
